Taurus GX2

I think they’ll sell like hotcakes much like the old model, especially as it seems they did away with the odd trigger system of the g2 and g3.

I think they goofed by not having an optic model on release, but it’s probably coming at some point.

I hope they'll also make a version without the thumb safety because the market seems to prefere no safety on striker fired pistols. I myself have the G3 and I like the safety and the second strike capability even if I understand others dislike both these features.

Taurus introduces the GX2 , a new line to replace the G3 series..
Caleb Giddings' video (official Taurus video, him being their marketing guy) said it was meant to replace the G2C. Which is ripe for replacement.

The reports I have seen cite crappy mags and machining but good ergonomics and sights. Also made in Brazil, while G2 was at least assembled in the US.

It's good to have more choices. I am relieved not to see anything that I don't already have covered.

The G2C, G3C, were never assembled in the U.S, never used MecGar mags and were fine.

The return for defect of the G2s and G3s was .00019% for a major retailer, as low as Glock.

Local Scheels guy said they send 4x more American made Ruger products back that are defective than Taurus products they sell.

My G3X and my last G3C both used Mec Gar mags

Was there ever a single stack "G3S"?

Im at work now .. it will be later tonight
I don’t remember seeing a G3S
There is a Mecgar Sig magazine that some people (I have read) have used in the G2|3C. This despite the note on Mecgar's page about these not working in the Taurus. Screenshot from 2025-01-06 17-49-17.png

The magazines that come with this new GX2 are horrible looking. Near the top of them on the rear it looks like they have been crumpled up and then flattened back out. I like Taurus but this is horrible and with them being better and making better products I am surprised they allowed these magazines to be this messed up.

They seem to run flawlessly.. personally.. a GX2 will be in my safe … when the new wears off and if they are bugs .. they are exterminated… then I will purchase one …

For what I understand the 15 round GX4 mag functions in the GX2

It's not that Taurus has some defective products, it's the long history of terrible customer service that earned them their reputation.
