Taurus pt145 takedown pin help

    MY SON TRIED TO CLEAN HIS TAURUS PT145 AND NOW WE CANNOT GET THE TAKE DOWN PIN BACK IN PROPERLY CAN ANYONE HELP. DON':cuss:T WANT TO BREAK ANYTHING:

    This is the revolver section, but nonetheless, tell him to cock the internal hammer in the trigger frame (if it has one, not sure on that model). Also, the slide MUST be in the rear locked position to insert the pin on most semi-autos.

    Turn the pin to six o clock ( just like you removed it ), then push down the small spring inside with the end of the pin, and push it back in. it will take a little force.

    - Lock the slide back
    - Tip the gun forward and make sure the barrel goes all the way forward
    - While holding the barrel end down, look into the hole where the pin goes in
    - Gradually move the gun back and forth until you see the round lug below the barrel drop in line with the hole (you may need to tilt the gun back but make sure the barrel doesn't fall back)
    - Insert the pin and rotate it back to original position on the slide
    - Now you should be able to release the slide forward
