Picked up a new PT145 Pro last weekend, hoping it will be my primary carry gun when Kansas CCW takes effect in January.
Did a lot of research here and on other sites before going with the Taurus.
Since I don't have a place to go shoot at the moment http://www.thehighroad.org/showthread.php?t=225430
I offer this pre-range report.

Fits good in my hand, points naturally.

Never owned a double action only pistol before, was somewhat leery about the trigger pull. I have double action revolvers but always shoot them single action because I can't hit nothin' double action. The trigger on the Taurus was a pleasant surprise: long take up but then it breaks like the proverbial glass rod. Not a bad thing for a defensive weapon.

Not sure I like the Heinie straight eight sights. I'll know more after a trip to the range. Might end up ordering a set of Trijicons.

Fits good in my back pocket. It's there right now and is actually more comfortable to sit on than my wallet.

Easy to take down for cleaning, no tools required like my Kimber.

Still searching for a holster. I'm impressed with reviews and the price of Rafter S products but have not contacted them yet. Tried to order a Desantis Nemesis pocket holster but they (Desantis) told me that they "Were not compatible" with the Pro series.

More to follow once I get it to the range.

If yours has Heinie straight eight sights you probably have the SA/DA. After the slide is racked it is SA the next trigger pull without racking the slide is DA. It needs to be carried cocked and locked (safety on).

Great choose in a carry weapon! I have one I used to carry untill getting the 24/7 Pro .45 a few months ago. I'm a big guy and have no trouble carrying the slightly larger 24/7. I know you will be pleased with your purchase. Keep us updated after you hit the range with your new pistol. ;)
