I'm looking at a Taurus Ultralite 44 Magnum revolver. Has anyone had any experience with this gun? I know it was meant to compete with the S&W 329 but how durable and reliable is it?

As always any help is appreciated.

Taurus Ultra lite 44 Mag.

I handled one of these light weight brutes last week, and am not enamored with it in the least. I own quite a few 44 mags, Rugers, S&W's, Winchesters etc. and just the thought of touching off a "real" 44 mag load in this type of hanguns just gives me the shakes....:uhoh: The recoil of anything but a very light load would be Horrendous!!!! It feels really good to handle but then when you think about it ya just go......NO Way!!!
If you do buy it and get to shoot it much please post here how it went for ya, if your hands will allow you to type.......:D

I have a regular wieght 44spl snub that hurts enough, it took a full range session to defeat the anticipation flinch.
I wouldn't even begin to be able to control an ultra light magnum.

but then I do have the arthritic wrist

It would help to know what your intended purpose would be. For a mountain/backpacking revolver, the Tracker medium frame may work better, as recoil won't be so brutal. I have one, and love it.

My neighbor got one, I shot it once (factory ammo). The trigger guard pinched my finger back by the grips. I wouldn't shoot it again.
