Whether it is a rebate or my tax return, I'm getting a pup. I love chasing chickens too much not to get a pheasant dog. Waited too long for one, and 2008 is the year.

Save it, as you should do with your money in the face of a looming recession. Economic Stupidity Package... :scrutiny:

so it appears I may not be eligible

From what I've heard you may get some cash. Fox News reported today that weekend negotiations suggested that every tax paying... and non tax paying... citizen of legal age may get this rebate. We should all know for certain within a day or two.

Well, hopefully my wife would let me buy an ar-15 upper to go on top of the THR-15 lower that I hope to be getting from the THR group buy forum. It will more likely go into the bank to eventually pay for new windows on the house.

Kroger has Sony AG3000 big screen TV for 998.00 and you get the stand. I know not a firearm but can watch movies with alot of firearms in them. I 'm getting mine tomorrow. Have a friend that is a manager at Krogers and he has only 3 left. People have been driving 3-4 hours to get their hand on them.

So it appears that pretty much everyone earning a paycheck will be given anywhere from $300-$1,200 from the federal government as part of an emergency stimulus package. Ask yourself this: When the federal government runs a budget deficit of $200+ billion where will this money come from? A deficit means you're broke after all. The answer is one of two places: Either they will borrow the money from China and tack on to the national debt or they will order the Federal Reserve to print more money ("legal" counterfeiting), which will debase the value of the dollar even more, resulting in increased prices due to inflation.

So what will I do with mine? Probably buy a gun so I can throw off a tyrannical government when the time comes. Sweet irony.

List of possible choices:

Steyr M40 (maybe 9mm)
Glock 36
Walther P22

Or this beauty right here:

Tax return is going toward ammo.

I'll put mine in the bank to save to pay taxes on my retirement benefits with.

I considered saving mine for a little too, but that doesn't stimulate the economy. And by that I mean that's not an excuse to buy a new gun!!

Tax Return = Ruger Vaquero .357
Stimulus Package = Mossberg 590 + Marlin Model60

Depending on how much each one is. Though I could also use a Playstation 3....

I had the exact same thought. ;)

After reading a Katrina survivors post the other day, the gist of it was carrying a rifle made him a target of looters and law enforcement so it stayed locked up in his vehicle or home and his primary piece was his carry gun, I'm picking up one of those 80's surplus Sig 225s (It's a private party transfer so no worries, it's going to an Amurican.) and an iwb holster ~$300 + transfer fees.

I'm using that to pay off a little more of my car payment. And to thwart off any one: I just got a GSG-5 and ordered some ammo from CMP so there! Oh, I also want to get a P226 before school starts up again in the fall. Either that or another AK.

I could have really used $600 20 or 30 years ago. Now it's just pocket change. I'll just stick it in my pocket or in my checking account to gather dust.

That ought to be stimulating!

I'd like to buy a nice entry level 1911, maybe a taurus or springfield army... But with the growing threat of a future assault weapons ban I think I will pick up an AR-15 or AK variant first and a nice supply of 30 round mags. I'd also like to get a pile of the 13 round mags for my XD45 and 33/17 round mags for my sub2k.

Pelosi, D-Calif., agreed to drop increases in food stamp and unemployment benefits during a Wednesday meeting in exchange for gaining rebates of at least $300 for almost everyone earning a paycheck, including low-income earners who make too little to pay income taxes.
Yay free money for everyone, we're all rich, print some more! :D

Mine will be going to the bank to help offset the interest rate decline.
