Some 30 years ago I picked up a Tec-22, almost unfired and still in the case, for $40.00.
It was a lot of fun - until it suddenly stopped extracting.
I messed with it for a while, then gave up and tossed it in the pistol safe. I figured that it needed an extractor and that those would no longer be available. Anyway, I'd already had more than $40.00 worth of fun out of the little gun.
Today I was ordering a few parts for a Remington Nylon 77 and decided to scout for parts for any other hangar queens that were malingering around the place. The Tec-22 came to mind and I Googled the term. Imagine my surprise when I found out that it used the same extractor as a Ruger 10/22, although it was suggested that a Volquartsen extractor would be better.
Also that the hammer face needed to be polished and that it needed original 10/22-style magazines to eject properly.

Well!

The parts have been ordered. We'll see what comes of this.
