Hi Guys,
I just wanted to give you the heads up that our Tech-SIGHTS "GI" type sighting system for the Marlin 60 & 795 rifle is ready for delivery. It has been a long time in the making, but is one sweet system. The only tool required for assembly is a screw driver and a little medium strength loctite and you are good to go.

You really really really need to make a set for marlin leveractions.

I would buy another 336 just to put a tech sight on it if you offered one
 
I have tech sights for my Yugo SKS and love them. They are a great improvement over stock irons. Makes a good rifle great, and worth every penny.

You can bet your bottom dollar that I will pick up a set for my marlin 60. I have been waiting on these for a long time.

Keep up the good work.

Oh and what about the Mosin Nagant? Anything in the works for these rifles?
 
Awesome. I remember this being posted about a year ago, but I thought it was just vaporware. I was considering putting a scope on my marlin, but I think I'll go with a set of these.
 
Very cool! I have Tech Sights on my 3 10/22s, and they take that rifle from a 'good' rifle to a 'great' rifle. I highly recommend them.
 
I have the Tech-sights for my SKS and I am very impressed with both the quality of product and the customer service for this company. I asked an installation question with an email and had a response in hours. I am proud to support such products. The SKS is much more fun to shoot with decent sights. I am a big fan of such peep sights in general for their many benefits. My .22 Henry Golden Boy is a tack driver with a Lyman tang sight.
 
I have some on my 795, they're really good, and I got GREAT customer service from tech-sights.

My groups gut about cut in half with the tech sights vs. stocks, no problems getting 1" groups at 25 yards with the 795.

My only problem is that I tried to tighten the screw for the front sight too hard and ended up tearing the head of the screw off. Luckily it still seems pretty secure and I put a bunch of loctite on there so I hope it stays put.
 
Reviving an old thread...does anyone know if the Tech Sights will fit a Marlin Papoose? law27? I was thinking of getting a cheap red dot, but then I'd need batteries. This is for a grab-and-go fun plinking and even SHTF gun so I want something simple, rugged and cheap.

I'm sure it could be done but you run into one problem. If the barrel doesn't line up the exact same every time it could loose its zero. Since the front sight and the rear sight are both on the barrel with the stock unit, it will shot straight every time which would be important on a SHTF gun.
 
Thanks, I was wondering about that with the red dot option as well. Does anyone have any experience with a scoped Papoose and whether or not it loses zero when reassembled?
 
Can anyone confirm these work with a 795SS? All the images I see online are of the 795.

I think the stainless guns have a different front sight setup and I'd like to confirm these would fit.
 
Here is what I know for sure

but it may not completely answer the question....The Marlin 60 and 795 blued have a front ramp sight held to the barrel with a small screw that actually screws into the barrel. The Tech Sights front sight utilizes the tapped screw hole to attach the front sight. I can only say that the stainless 795 has a different type of sight but I do not know if the attaching mechanism is the same. I know, I know...I did not help much at all...But I was going to post here anyway to say I love Tech-Sights and have them on my 60 and 795 and....reason for the post....I just bought a Marlin 70HC and it has the front ramp sight like 60/795 so I have now bought my third set of Tech-Sights to slap on it. I want them for my Marlin 99M1 and a Glenfield 70 but that does involve a small drill and tap for the front sight on those models because the factory front sight is simply held in place with a hex screw that acts as a set-screw, not one that screws into the barrel. The rear sight would go on easily on the two latter models however so I am thinking of paying my gunsmith to drill and tap a bit for me.

So, one last thought, if you have a 795SS compare it to a Model 60 setting in a gunshop someplace or a regular 795 and compare the front sight attachment systems.
 
They both use screws, but the screw hole on the blued models is set back on the ramp, while the screw hole on the SS models is set more forward, hidden under the sight post.

So really what I'm trying to figure out is the position of the screw holes and if the seemingly more forward screw hole position still allows the Tech Sight enough room. In the pictures I see of the 795 model it looks awfully close to the muzzle.

Would try to compare them in a store, but since Marlin started offering rebates and deals on the blued 795 every store I know of doesn't even bother with the 795SS and I haven't seen one since.

The Scheels store

seems to keep at least a couple 795 stainless on hand and several blued ones. I will see what I can do about finding out. I live exactly one mile from the store and I usually there about 3-4 times weekly. I will try and remember. :)
 
Nice! Those would work well on the 70pss "Papoose" as well. Make the levergun set as suggested above.

I went to Scheels yesterday

as I said I would and the store was too busy to ask for any thoughts from the sales associates. However, I looked at a 795SS front sight. The fire sight portion, the plastic piece, slides in a dove tail in the sight assembly. But the full sight assembly is mounted on the barrel in a way I cannot determine whether there is a screw hidden underneath the fire sight piece or if the whole assembly is soldered/welded to the barrel. I would suggest that the person with the 795SS contact Marlin and ask them how the front sight is attached to this particular model. Also, it might be possible to find a parts break-down diagram on the internet showing the method of attachment.

I just put the Tech-Sight on my Marlin 60SS. I'm 99% sure this has the same front assembly as the 795SS--I haven't matched them side-by-side, but in every picture I've seen of a 795SS, the front sight looks identical to the one on my 60SS.

It was a piece of cake. First, slide the sight hood off forwards. Then, as has been mentioned, drift the orange front sight post out of the sight base. The screw that mounts the base to the barrel is right under the post. Unscrew it, lift off the sight base, and you're good to go.

Once word of caution: you might want to reassemble the Marlin front sight for storage so that you don't lose any pieces in case you ever want to put it back on. Four parts in total: sight base, screw, sight post, hood.
