mods, I have not been around here for a while, if this is not allowed here just whack it. Thanks

I have a really nice Ted Williams 30-30 Model 100 from Sears in the 70s. There is very small spot of rust where water must've gotten under the side scope mount. Being a lefty that's the first thing I took off. This gun is clean, shoots fine but has no sentimental value for me. I bought it off a friend over ten years ago, only shot it myself 3 times.

I have two guys on a facebook gun group asking if I want to sell it. I have no idea what it might be worth. And that's my question.

thanks

Your rifle is a Winchester M94 made for Sears. Post some pics if you can but in the condition you describe it should be in the $300 range. Maybe more. The old "house brand" gun values have really gone up. Go to Gunbroker and do a search. You can compare condition and what those guns sold for. After all it is a American made Winchester. Only negative thing about the 70s made 94s is the receiver was cast of sintered metal and the finish starts to get speckled and they don't take well to reblueing. The finish is some kind of black stuff IIRC. They only sold for around $100 back then.

I had one of those I bought used for $125 way back in the 1980s when I could buy Mirlin 336 rifles for a flat $100. I sold it to my BIL for half now and half never. And he borrowed my Williams peep sight that is still borrowed. It was a good rifle and should bring $300 plus dollars. Maybe $400 or more. And it was an accurate sucker too.

I would keep it myself. But I'm a real 30-30 fan.

Keep it. Shot my first deer with one of those, borrowed from my scoutmaster back in 1980.

Thanks all, I really have nothing against this rifle except I would like to replace it with a JM Marlin. I have a couple 39As, a .357 1894c, and an 1895cb 45/70 all JMs. I'm not really a snob just always loved the levers and want to stay the Marlin course as much as I can.

In eastern NC it is almost impossible to find a 30-30 win 94 on the lgs rack and I mean the lower quality post 64 ones!
I know bc I always look for them first. $450 is the cheapest one I’ve seen in last 3-4 years.
And a pre 64 will go far north of that!!
I would keep it!
Jmho

I, too am a lever gun fan, and the 1894 Winchester holds a special place in my heart (I have 4, three .30-30’s and a trapper .44 Mag). I also like the Marlins (336 in .35Rem and 1895 in .45-70) the Rossi’s (.357 and.45 Colt) and the Henry’s (.22 youth, .22 Lr and .22 mag).

That Ted Williams gun is one that I would hang onto myself, since not only has the genuine Winchester folded up Sears is against the ropes and on wobbly legs as well. That’s a double-slice of our American history that is wrapped up in that single rifle.

Stay safe!

LGS had a speckled receiver 94, one ding in stock, for $450.
It almost looked case colored, the speckling.
So cool looking I almost bought it..........and I've had two 94's and hate .30-30.

Well the TW 30-30 is off to it's new home from Michigan to deep west Texas. I got $350 for it which I thought was fair. The transfer fee was $20 which again I thought was fair but the shipping was $38 and change so overall I lost a chunk out of the sale price. It's all good, I hope the new owner enjoys it and uses it well. Thanks for all who commented!

I’m sorry for your loss.
