The best replies are the ones that go something like, "Besides doing that <illegal thing>, he didn't do anything illegal.

After Columbine, et al, do you really expect the authorities to just shrug off this jerk?

K

Umm, you seem to have a rather warped perspective. How many police died in Columbine? Do you find it wierd that the police wear vests? Society has proclaimed that it is open-seaon on students, and you condemn him for wearing a vest. In fact you accept that as legitimate reason to be detained or searched, even when it's done discreetly?

Methinks someone has too much of a hard-on for 'authorities', and not enough respect for fundamental principles of free society.

So let me get this strait, wearing a Kevlar Vest to school is considered "Unusual Behavior" which warranted having the police search his property.
(I don't want to Imagine what that school would do to a goth/cosplayer:what:)

Police Finding a tape in kid's car showing him and some friends pulling harmless pranks and relaxing in the country shooting some rifles and what appears to be explosive targets or something similar, and shooting up a newspaper machine.

Kid is Arrested on charges of steeling the newspaper machine, bail is set at $600K.:scrutiny:

the evidence is circumstantial at best, the bail seems to put across the notion that someone with an axe to grind is trying to make an ant hill into the Himalayas.:banghead:

what a waste of taxpayer money:cuss:

wow, if shooting guns in the country was a crime..........ouch, I wouldn't be posting on here for a good long while.

Seriously if you steal a mailbox and tape yourself shooting it and then put it on the internet don't you think your going to get in trouble?

Okay so you think he deserved a 600,000 dollar bail for stealing and stitching a $20 newspaper kiosk?

There is nothing illegal about anything he did excluding stealing a minor box of steel and plastic. The explosives were probably fireworks, exploding scarecrows, or some other tannerite target. Not illegal. People need to stop worrying about things that look scary.

Maybe I'm just too old to understand the youth of today. Forgive me if the kids in this video don't come off as responsible gun owners to me. They are treating their guns like toys and seem to be only interested in hearing them go bang and seeing what damage they can cause with them.

Sorry if I don't see the fun in shooting up the property of others and shooting as fast as I can into a puddle right in front of me:scrutiny:

It's punk idiots like that who make defending RKBA more difficult than it needs to be. Those kinds of videos help to forge a link between gun ownership and reckless and potentially dangerous behavior.
I couldn't agree more, well said!

Again, I think that comes from him being an idiot and idiots being entertained. However, it isn't illegal to shoot up your own puddles or junk (yet), so even while most people wouldn't ever want to go shooting with this kid, you can't deny that his "crime" is nominal at best, and if there wasn't a video of him shooting a bunch of stuff up he probably would have gotten a $200 slap on the ass before being sent on his way.

True, I guess I should add that I agree he has not broken any laws other than stealing that newspaper thing, and he hasn't even been convicted on that yet.

I guess I was looking at the vid from a gun handling perspective, that usually happens when I see vids like these.

I don't see how they can charge him with anything other than vandalism and theft, wearing body armor to school these days isn't really a bad a idea. He's also old enough to own a rifle, I owned many rifles when I was a 18 and still a senior in HS. Looking back I was pretty reckless as well in my youth so I can't be too judgmental even though that was many years ago.

:uhoh:Um, that shot-up newspaper box was in the woods when we got there. We just shot it up a little more.:uhoh:

and shooting as fast as I can into a puddle right in front of me

Shooting a nearby puddle with an 8mm Mauser does have a certain appeal. Everyone likes reactive targets, right?

I say we flood CNN and the local LEA with all the wonderful videos of the SHOT show and let them wet their pants. They can make up stories about urban terrorists that are training with full-auto assault weapons and 50 caliber anti-aircraft guns, explosives, and much more!

Oh and forgot to add, but local law enforcement is unsure of their plans as of yet... we'll keep a close eye on this bunch as we look to find other deadly weapons in their arsenal that could arm a large army!

Media Jackasses on CNN referred to the AK as an automatic weapon several times as well as the dreaded "Assault rifle"! These morons should be federally regulated to get their facts straight before polluting the minds of sheeple with nonsense and misinformation! As previously mentioned, they played the video clip for hours and raved about the teen with AK-47 before ever explaining quietly what his real crime was!

And where is the illegality of this? I couldn't agree more with you that they are irresponsible but theres nothing they can be charged of. People need to face the music and understand that if something bad happens its their fault and possibly, loss, and that we, as gun owners, are going to recieve flak because of it.

If this kid hadn't stolen anything or brought the (correct me) tear gas on school grounds (that being if they had a no weapons policy), there would have been nothing he could have been convicted of.
