I've got a Kimber 82 that was passed on to me a few months ago by a family member. It was made sometime back in the early-mid 80s. It's darn near 100%. The quality, fit, and finish is great. I shot it years ago when I was younger but don't remember much about it. What can y'all tell me about these rifles? Accurate??

Also, I'm having trouble removing the bolt for cleaning. I figured it would just slide out after pressing the bolt release???

They are accurate, well made, and you'll get a lot of enjoyment out of it. Sometimes the blot releases fail though, have a gunsmith take a look at it.

The Model 82 is well thought of, although some of less expensive ones look like they could use a good refinish to let the walnut grain show through. These are the guns that started a revival of the classic American higher quality squirrel gun.

The basic models I've seen recently run $600 to $800 and the fancier S models often have asking prices of over $1500.

A quick search of gunsamerica.com will show you the diferrences.

Here's a nice looking basic Model 82 for $799.

And an S model for about $1700 iirc.
