Please tell me about the recoil from the g29.

I have experience with the g26 as my carry gun and rented the g27 some. The .40 only had a slightly more tip to it than the 9mm. I also shoot .45 a lot at the range and usually carry a .357 magnum in the woods. I am looking at the g29 as a replacment for teh large .357 686 I carry now for summer ATV riding/concealing.

I am not especially recoil sensitive but I want to know if quick
/accurate shots are doable with the 10mm. i can usually empty the 9mm into something about slightly larger than the size of a softball rather rapidly. (its why i love the glock)

I haven't noticed the G29 to be any worse than the G27, really.

I've had my G29 for going on four years, now; it is probably my favorite model in the Glock lineup...

The 29 is surely not an "easy" or "soft" shooter but it falls well short of abusive. The wide back strap and polymer frame make it similar in controlability to the 27. Initially I had trouble with having to reposition my grip after each shot since my ring finger would slip down. Agrip solved that problem. I pretty much consider the agrip manditory on the 29.

I've shot mine in two and four day pistol courses where we consumed between 200 and 400 rounds a day with not problems.....except for the skin on the thumb that I use for loading mags.

I wouldent recommend the 29 for someone who was not interested in working to maintain proficency with it. Its too much cartridge in too small a gun for the casual shooter. But if you're willing to take the time to learn to use it, it will perform well for you.

I use my G29 as my carry gun and use 180GSHP @ 1270fps. I can place all ten of tthem into the 10 and X ring on a B27 target in less than 4 seconds at 10yds consistently.
