Well my day started with the up before dawn yawn pack up the guns and off to the edge of a milo field. The sun came up and I started missing right away LOL. I then took a deep breath and buckled down to shooting. I hit the next 7 and then went through a spell of can't hit anything. I of course got my stuff back together and killed 3 more and 2 piggions that happened to make the mistake of flying by. All legal and full of myself I went home a hunter again LOL. Now what made this a super hunt. I was blessed to watch my friends yellow lab track and retreive his first (live bird). This dog is a winner and worked well for us. My girlfriend went and actually enjoyed her first hunt and believe it or not then helped me clean the birds and asked if I will teach her to hunt dove. I got to be up with the sun and spend 2 hours with friends talking, laughing and hunting. Thank you dad for teaching me how, thank you America for giving me the freedom to hunt, and thank you God for the birds, the sky and the skill to dove hunt.

My 10 year old girl and I were in the truck ready to go by 5:30 am. Swang by my buddies house picked him up and we were off to the dove field. We got there right about sunrise (we were running late) and a few birds were flying but not many. 1 flew right in front of my buddy and he gets. Another 1 flies in front of me and with the first shot of dove season I get my first bird of the season. At this time I am thinking alright its going to be a good day. Then out of nowhere theey just kind of stop flying. We end up with 2 more before 8 and my kid shot her first dove ever so we called it a day.

Went to my buddy's again in Waco. Limited Saturday, Sunday morning was a wash. I hit the first bird, then proceeded to miss about the next five.:banghead: But, I concentrated on swing and follow through and got agressive and by afternoon Saturday I was in the flow and the birds were flying pretty well around the tank where we set up. It was fun and the little 20 gauge side by side impressed again.
