I am going to look at a Mauser 3000 in 30.06, that is at an estate sale this weekend. I tried to do a search here on THR and did a quick search on google. I'm not turning much up. I don't know if this is a $1000 rifle or a $100 rifle. Obviously condition dictates a lot, but I am looking for a baseline.

Maybe a $400 rifle, if in good condition.
It is not a '98 design, but is "modernized" somewhat along the lines of a 700 Remington.

    Fergy35,

I had one of these rifles for many years. They weren't made by Mauser (forget the name of the German company that mfg. them), but had the Mauser name on them. Last I knew, they were worth about $400 - $500 depending upon condition.

    Thanks guys.

I'll probably still go watch the auction. Who knows maybe it might go cheap. At least I have some info to work with. Thanks.

Have a look at auction arms and gunbroker. As I recall most of them seemed to be priced in the $5-600 range.
