I'm going to be making a trip to Nashville in a few weeks, and I went through the concealed carry laws again for a refresher, since it has been a while since I've been in Tennessee.

I seem to remember the preemption laws are a little confusing in Tennessee, but all I could find is that you have to be careful in city parks. I'm not planning on going to any, but I don't want to inadvertently go into some place a city has made off limits that isn't clear by state statute.

Is there a list of cities/locations that differ from state law?

According to http://www.handgunlaw.us/states/tennessee.pdf ,Tennessee has had statewide preemption since 1986, except for some grandfathering. So it can get a bit complicated. I would read that sites Tennessee section listed above.

    Have a good,safe trip.

It has been a while since I was in Nashville, but it seemed that there was a good job of "site posting" for those "No Firearms" areas. Caution is always best. As you know, here in TENNESSEE, it is gun frendly, as a rule. And the guns laws are somewhat, hard to understand. Hope you have a good time.

All State Parks are legal for carry, though some are still posted to the contrary. I chided the Parks Commission about this and was told that no money was allocated for their removal. Bottom line, licensed carry is legal in State and National Parks. Cities have the option of posting against carrying. Observe signs at city parks.

Thanks for the input, everyone. Red Wind, I've skimmed through that before, but I'll read it again to make sure I didn't miss anything.
