Terrorist Fish slips past TSA Idiots

Well, I travel quite a bit. I have yet to run into a TSA employee who was anything but professional and courteous.

Before 911, the private contractor employees were, on comparision more rude, careless and seemed to go through the motions. I even had one pull me aside to check my carry-on once and then refuse to either inspect it or let me go as he didn't like my "attitude" because I asked him to hurry as I was running late for a flight. He, his supervisor and I had some words.

Another time, some barely English Speaking employee of some security company refused to let me go through because of my Charleton Heston .38 Charm on my key ring. he said "Bullet!" I said "No bullet, charm!" he repeated "Bullet!" I repeated "No bullet, charm!" This went on a few more times and I said. "OK, here, gift! Merry Christmas (it was July)." Took it off the key chain gave it to him and walked towards the gate.

Post 911, some guy and his wife let a bunch of people cut in the line for the self-check in during a busy time. I told them that it was not nice to do so when others are waiting and the guy started telling me to mind his own business and got rude. Made me angry and I raised my voice. His wife went to get the nearest TSA guy who watched the whole thing and the TSA guy said, "hey not my problem, you guys made it happen by letting people cut." That made me laugh! (And probably stopped me from losing my temper.)

From what I have seen in the many miles I've travelled since 911, the TSA folks are doing a great job.

I still theink the tSA folks are much better than the minimum wage, waiting for the green cared crowd that worked the gates before 911.

Sorry you had problems with the predecessors. However, PDX for example had one of the highest ratings in the country pre 9/11.

All of the former screener employees in the country were supposed to be tested by the government and have first shot working for TSA.

The government instead screwed most of the employees by subjecting them to higher standards than boneheads taken off the street. They were rudely treated by TSA's testing agency and were systematically screened out. The government never had any intention of giving a fair chance to the former screeners. They did, however, hire a few to CYB.

There are several federal lawsuits going on relative to TSA and its hiring practices. The friggin government even makes its own federal rules of civil procedure and has been proven to have lied to the Court in Portland about discovery issues.

I hate the TSA, the Patriot Act and anything resembling.

Nothing pisses me off more than TSA, however somebody has to be there doing the job. It's the ridiculousness of its actions that really get me.

I won't be traveling by commercial air anytime soon, except in private aircraft.

Except for the 85% of private screeners nationwide who were not US citizens and therefore not eligible.

By "testing agency" do you mean NCS Pearson, the private contaractor against whom the government has FOUR SEPERATE law suits going for their utter incompetance at the job? Hired too many, hired too few, screwed up tests, sited hiring activies at resorts and watsed millions of bucks, THAT NCS Pearson?
