I have been a member for two years with a big lapse of entries in the middle of that period. However, it occurred to me recently that I see bunches and bunches of entries by Jim Keenan answering all sorts of questions about everything gun related and, I bet dollars to donuts he is virtually always correct. He seems to have loads of knowledge and I infer that he has done gunsmithing so has an intricate knowledge of the workings of firearms as well as historical knowledge. I, for one, want to say thank you for taking the time to share all of this with the rest of us. So, kudos to, and loads of thanks, Jim Keenan. Keep up the good work after more than 6000 posts.

And, I might add, thank you for your no nonsense, direct delivery.

Jim probably has the widest general knowledge of any gunsmith I've ever spoken with. If it's a gun, he's likely had his hand in at least one example of it.

Could be worse... my favorite gunsmith, when presented with anything other than a Kelbly or BAT action, looks at it like it has contagious ebola, and suggests that you find someone else...

Couldn't you have PMed him? Jim's got so much knowledge in his head, I'm afraid any more swelling might break it. ;)
