Thanksgiving

We went hunting for turkeys at the local Publix. Had a good dinner with the kids and grandson and some neighbors.

Happy Thanksgiving and I hope some had time to do some back yard plinking for the holiday.

In NC, the Wildlife Commission prefers we eat our wild turkey in APRIL! I’m sure they base their reasoning on very sound well established research way above my pay grade.
Go figure!
So I shot my turkey at Food Lion. Caused quite the ruckus too, but I got him with #20 buck!
A fine 20 pounder!!!!! And that included field dressing ready for table. I could have taken more, but being the conservationist I am, I chose not to be greedy.
But I’ll always wonder what a wild turkey tastes like on Thanksgiving!
That aside, we in the USA truly have so much to be thankful for! I hope everyone remembered this as they celebrated a day off from work to break bread with family and friends! I was blessed!
