I don't have any pics from the range trip yesterday, but I finally got to fire my '57 JC Higgins/Sears Model 45 yesterday, and all I can say is what a #€^|~[= blast! Ran 20 Rem 150's, 20 Rem 170's & 20 Winny Power Point 150's thru her. Wowch, my shoulder still hurts----but tuff u-know-what, it was worth it. Didn't use the scope and only fired it on our 50 yard range, but had no problems punching holes thru hot, shook upped soda cans, which we laid on their sides and shot lengthwise thru the bottoms. Big fun, I'm telling you. This is now officially my new favorite rifle that I own.....but now I've got to find some cheaper food for her. 'Cuz even that 75 cents-a-pop stuff from W/World adds up pretty quick......:D

gun locked closed- help?

I have a marlin 336 that was my Dad's. It is closed and locked. I dont have any experience with disassembling a gun, so I was wondering if someone could give me an idea of what might be wrong

My latest and hopefully last 336. These are addictive.
A 1949 SC 30-30, untapped and unloved, and with unmatched stocks. As soon as time & money permit I'll treat it to better wood.

My 1974 336C in .30-30. Got it used in 1998 and it was my first rifle. Can't think of a better way to start.

There are 3 generations depicted there also. My grandfather's 1945 Model 36 on the left and my dad's 1980 Rem 700 BDL in the middle.

Found A 1957 336 SC in 30-30 today. Had no intention of buying It so I lowballed the storekeeper. Damn if he did not accept it! It's in Beautiful condition. My 3rd 336 SC and 2nd 1957 SC.
Pics this weekend.

Recently I saw in a gun magazine (forgot which hence my question) where they sent out a new lever action to have it made it look old/antique. I really liked the looks. I'd like to have my 336 undergo this process. Does anyone have the name of a company or a person that specalizes in this kind of wor? I'm not trying to resell it as an older rifle or anything like that. I just like how it looked. Many thanks.

Here is my 2004 336C Converted to a straight stocked texan, complete action job, alleviated metal around the barrel bands and made sure the stock was not touching the barrel, stainless 1895 straight lever.

It hurts man... it hurts.

I don't know if you have heard but our sever was hacked and brought down, and we should be back up on a new server that will be in Georgia sometime in the next 24-48 hours, with new updated forum software. Larry, Dave, and Matt are trying their hardest.

I was hoping to find some info here as to what happened to MO. Haven't been able to get on for the last 48 hours. Glad that someone here had knowledge. I was going to start a thread if I didn't find it here. Thanks. :banghead:
