It reminds me of Martians. Real Martians, not fake ones. Please see if you can sneak in a picture of your Tele.

I like the green sparkly color. Not sure I would paint my AR that color but I like it. The gold not so much.

UGH! Where's the jeweled mud flaps and the fox tail? There's a lot of rotating going on in the cemeteries of more than a few old gun writers. But, as I've acknowledged before, there's plenty of boats bobbing around in the Sea of Subjectivity.

Sorry, can't do it. After hours and hours and days and days I botched the final polish and buffing on the body. Actually, I think it was a soft spot in the wood that got me. Remediating it 100% would have required stripping and sanding one whole side and starting over with the hours and hours and days and days. Even just filling and leveling. And it was in a spot too obvious. So I tossed it. I'm waiting for another body I had already ordered. That one is going to be already finished in vintage Cream. The bummer on the botched project body was that I had done some non-Tele contouring on front and back so it wasn't so blocky - a la Strat - pretty slinky IMO. Ah well. From failures come experience. From experience comes doing better next time.

The wife & myself were snowed in a few years ago & did this without air circulating. They should have warnings on those cans.:what: Marlin 22 mag.JPG

So someone asked about durability.. the paint needs to harden a little more because we knocked off some clearcoat pounding in the trigger pins on the golden gun. I have a little scrape in the handguard of the "greenie meanie" from something however the glitter doesnt come off in your hands. Once the clear sets for 48 hours i think it will be fine. And i'm out of paint.

Its one of those things you dont really regret doing but you do wonder why.

Since we're in the 70's we need to use the proper terminology to describe those rifles and they are really, really FAR OUT, MAN!!

When I saw it I went straight to the retro motorcycle helmet images in my mind...

Instead of Easy Rider...it’s Easy Shooter.

I’ve threatened to camo up an AR or two for a different look... I’ve just never gotten the cajones to try on one of mine.

    Stay safe.

Do Legos come in those colors?

Now some tassels to add to the Stingray look.

If Fred were to keep an AR in The Mystery Machine that is what it would look like.

Did you paint with “Star Trek Green” so that the rifle matches your car?

It looks Far Out——from the Andromeda Galaxy, the closest galaxy to our boring, stuffy Milky Way Galaxy and it’s very uninspiring guns.

    I love everything about this!!!

I have this idea that I keep kicking around I affectionately call “the most ridiculous rifle I can make.” When I eventually make it, I think I’m going to have to use that color for the vast majority of the gun!

glad to hear you don’t get any glitter on your hands. How does it seem to do with heating up when sitting in the sun? Also, texture wise, how does it seem to affect the grip? I’m assuming it isn’t anymore slippery than a regular handguard, and probably just a little grippy/sticky. Any change in grippyness when wet?

*i feel like it would be rude not to elaborate on my rediculous rifle, being as this is a gun forum: AR9, Monte Carlo style stock without pistol grip, scout scope, and now, a tiger stripe paint job using this and maybe a nice orange color.

I am of the opinion guns ought to look like guns, and not toys. More for safety than anything else.

I see my guns as tools so have about as much desire to spray paint them or decorate them with stickers as any mechanic would his tools. Guns are intrinsically interesting and beautiful by design and do not need flashy gaudy paint and glitter.

    To each their own indeed.

I like the green one best, so you win, the other is close.
Being an artist myself, I can almost imagine what the pair of fellows look like, MULLET haircuts for sure.
Bell Bottom jeans [ the fellow partly shown in the first photo is an art critic ], a mix of 60's & 80's.
There has to be a movie for this pair of rifles, we just have to find the right actors.

    I like it.
    Two things tho.
THe black grip and stock kinda kill the look, looks out of place and just slapped on.

Some period correct pin stripping would really set it off and complete the overall look.
