The 'cool' factor winner is......

Webley-Fosberry 45 auto revolver Colt Buntline Special. Always wanted a Buntline as a kid from watching "The Life and Times of Wyatt Earp". The LeMat Johnny Ringo carried was cool as well 9 shots and a 20 gauge in one neat package. Man.I'm dating myself.

If "cool" had to be a gun one can actually carry and shoot, then I'll say my Browning BDA 380. That would be the gun I'd carry to the BBQ if it were tomorrow.

Wednesday I might choose something else, but today I think that one.

#1 - Phillips and Rodgers Medusa Model 47. They were gone from the market before I had a chance to snap one up. Now they are out of my reach.

#2 - An original Whitney Wolverine.............had one of the disc firing toys as a kid (dating myself here), always wanted the real thing.

1) Coonan 357mag 1911 is the clear choice for coolness.
2) Springfield TRP
3) S&W model 29 6in

Cool is not just an object, but the story behind it.

Cool is inherited shotgun with a worn stock that fed a previous generation during hard times.

Cool is the gun a veteran built based on his service rifle. It's a reminder of his or her service and a tool for teaching the next generation.

Cool is a work of art in motion by a good custom builder.

Cool is a pistol with the wear of years in the holster and thousands of rounds fired in practice. The finish is worn on the holster contact points, the top of the chamber is shiny from the slide moving over it tens of thousands of times, and when the owners hand picks it up it points effortlessly as all that wear is translated into proficiency.

My coolest gun is the G34 I bought as an IDPA gun, after I replaced the sights, did a trigger job, stippled the grip, carved my initials into the side, and started shooting the heck out of it. It captures my essence more than any other gun I own, and that would be pretty cool to anyone who thought I was cool.

My second coolest gun is an HK P2000. I haven't shot it for a long time, but for years it served as a CCW without a failure, and it has the wear to show for it.

Shiny + overpriced = a lot of things. Automatically being cool is not one of them.

I find a lot of guns cool...hard to pic a winner.

Broomhandle
Luger
WWII era BHP with plenty of wear
Wartime 1911
A finely crafted custom 1911 or BHP

Usually something I can't afford. :)

I think there are a few guns that have intrinsic cool value.

The beretta 92 has always been a cool gun.

And a German Luger is cool

A nickel SAA is just plain cool

I would rate them in the reverse order they are listed as far as coolest factor.

I love the Glocks and they are cool, but that's because I'm holding them. lol
Those other guns I listed can make anyone cool.

If I absolutely HAD to pick from the original three choices, I would go with the Glock 18 because it's a more rare item. The Desert Eagle never impressed me. The H&K is nothing special either.
