The CZ Club

Groucho Marx said it best: "I'd never join a club that would have me as a member".

As to the CZ97 its like a Glock 21 -- too big to be comfortable for me. I much prefer the EAA Witness steel frame 45 to the CZ97 -- they take the same mags. But in 9mm or .40S&W forget the clones and get the real deal CZ.

The CZ-97B didn't come out so clear in this shot...hope you don't mind.

I've also got a VZ-52/57, but the only pics of that are on my computer in NC.

OK...that last post distracted me momentarily...oh yeah...uh....damn...more pictures....uh...scratch that.

I need to know who makes and wear I can purchase a quality IWB holster for the CZ 2075 and also I would like a nice high ride concealable OWB leather for my CZ97.

I can't seem to find anything in my searching.

I'm almost certainly getting a CZ 75B - but which one?

After a lot of research, advice from HighRoaders, and several visits to the gunshop, I've pretty much decided on a CZ 75B. It will be my first 9mm and will be used almost exclusively on the range for accurate target shooting. I suspect I'll keep it in the bedroom, too.

I'm looking at two options.

1) A NIB CZ 75B w/factory mounted FirePoint sight (like the J Point) - $370 otd. It was likely a 2001/2002 midel, but is brand new. Comes with 10 round mags

2) A stock CZ 75B - $421 otd. Comes with 15 round mags

So, any opinions here on the FirePoint sight? Seems like a great deal - I can always pick up a 15 mag later, and if I don't like the FirePoint, I guess I can always get a really nice adjustable sight.

Thanks - your thread has been very helpful!

I'd go for the cheaper one. that's a good price for the CZ 75B, and it can accept 16 round magazines.

Bought it - $320 otd (CZ75B w/FirePoint)

I went with the CZ 75B w/FirePoint sight - NIB, 275 + 25 shipping and 20 FFL transfer - $320 OTD. I think it was a great deal and can't wait to shoot it.

If you're interested in this deal, the guy I bought it from, the owner of a Pawn Shop who is getting out of the gun business, has one more to sell, same deal. I think it's listed on GunBroker.com.

Thanks again for the advice. Even if this FirePoint sight doesn't work out, I can replace it for not a lot of money and still make out well.

Well, I'm either going to have to stay away from this thread or start making some more money.

I've got a CZ-52 and a P0-1. Really like them both.

Well...I ordered a PCR and a 97B from Buds, and 2 days after they said my order was processed, they emailed me that the PCR was not in stock.

So we got the 2075 9mm and the 97B.

I love everything about the 97B aside from the grips. The inside finish was a little bit rough also. It seems they aren't machined as well as other manufacturers. The gun shoots like a dream though, and after 300 rounds, no issues and quite accurate. However, it will not even chamber Cor-Bon JHP. With the Speer Gold Dot...it feeds the chamber but the following cartridge also comes partially forward in the magazine. I have not fired these rounds yet because of this.

The Rami on the other hand, 4 FTF in the first three mags had me a bit concerned. I put 110 rounds through it (WWB) on the first range trip. Got home and broke it down for a cleaning, and I found little flakes of brass all throughout the inside of the gun. Not sure if it was from the casing, or perhaps the fmj.

Went back a couple days later with some WWB 147gr JHP. These didn't feed well at all. Out of 20 rounds...9 FTF ! 100 rounds of Remington UMC 115gr JHP, all fed and fired without fail. 190 more rounds of the WWB FMJ and no failures.

I'm wondering if the FTF on the WWB FMJ is just a "break in period" issue.
I'd hate to go spending $25 a box for different PD ammo trying to figure out which will feed reliably, so if anyone can lend any personal experience...as this will be my wife's ccw.

I'd also really like to know what all the flakes are caused by?

Also, can the inside of the slide be polished by a gunsmith? It just seems awfully rough compared to other guns I've owned.

Bilt4comfort,

My guess is the issues with the Rami are related more to gun than ammo. I had a few jams on my Rami 40SW the first couple times I shot it that I charged to operator error (Mag nor fully seated, grip not firm) but they continue through more practice and different ammo.

If your Rami is a 40, see how many rounds you can load into the mag without it jamming. I cant get 5 rounds in mine. This has been a problem that CS says they have fixed with new mags, however my emails to them for replacements have gone unanswered.

The last 250 rnds of WWB FMJ have been good to go. The WWB JHP just won't work. The Rem. JHP works fine through 100 rnds. I can get 10 rnds in the mag...though the 10th is a bit tight. I don't think it's a magazine issue. I am leaning towards the gun just needing to be worn in a bit. I will keep feeding it up to 1000 rnds of FMJ, and if it will take the last 500 without fail, I'll consider it reliable.

Finding a reliable PD round may prove a little pricey though. So far, the Remington is failure free through 100. I'm going to look into some +p rounds though...and I doubt the Cor-Bon will feed.

I had some fail to feed at first with the Ramiand tried several brands til I found what works best for me.
For just plinking I use Monarch 115gr fmj its cheap but works good.
For my SD ammo I have 147gr jhp reloads from a gun shop in Texas City Tx.
that work very well for me.I have 2500 rds through it and have had no more
problrms.

I recently became very interested in stippling/texturing the grip straps of handguns, instead of checkering. After finding something I really liked, done on a Browning Hi Power, which has a very similar grip configuration, I decided to try it out on my stainless CZ75B. I am very pleased with the results. To get the pattern, I used a round and half-round bastard file and struck the surface many times. In the round or more precise areas, I held the file about 1/8" above the surface and struck the opposite side, using a plastic mallet filled with lead shot. The previously slick surfaces now feel like grip tape. I am going to do the same on my Browning Hi Power next. Here is a pic of the front grip strap and underside of the trigger guard.
