The Houston Press is an entertainment weekly run by urban, elitist, vaguely left-of-center types. They sent two reporters to the 134th national conference of the National Rifle Association held here recently.

Much to its credit, the Houston Press published letters critical of their coverage of the NRA convention.

Those crackpot leftists WISH they could get 60,000 supporters to show up to their events. Pure jealousy. The NRA is THE powerhouse lobbying group in DC and the left knows it.

A 'million' moms or blacks can march in Washington for a day and the government bureaucrats will give them lip service for a few months. If they screw things up so badly that four million law abiding gun owners march in DC, they'll be running for their lives.

There is a very similar rag called "The Pitch" in KC. Neither would do for the bottom of a bird-cage.

If the article is critical of the NRA, then why would we want to give it free advertisement by linking to it?

Remember that when you surf for-profit publications on the web, you are training them to write on certain subjects. Click on a story about how guns are evil and the publication learns it can sell advertising by writing about how guns are evil. Even a leftist publication still needs to make a profit and they won't write about anything that people won't read.

At least in Texas, the retarded rhetoric is isolated to alternative low circulation newspapers. I can't wait to see what Wisconsin's biggest newspaper has to say when the NRA Annual Meeting comes to Milwaukee next year. Can you say screaming blissninnies?
