I hunt with several different rifles, this was taken with my custom Mauser in .275 Rigby (same as a 7x57 Mauser). It's built on a VZ24 action with a 24" barrel and a B&C stock, it shoots the 174 gr. SPCE loads like lightning bolts. I'm going on a whitetail hunt the 15th and will be taking the 275 Rigby and a couple of others: Ruger No. 1 in 9.3x74r, it has a 1.5-5 VX3 on it now. H&K SLB 2000k in 30-06, this works particularly well when we go hog hunting at night. I could use an AR in .223 or 6.5 Grendel but some of our hogs get pretty big and the '06 seems to anchor them pretty well which is very handy at night. The Sako AIII in 30-06 will be my back up/loaner gun.
Here's an update on the Kimber 8400 Talkeetna that I posted a picture of in post #30. It's undergone quite a few changes since that first photo was taken and I've used it to shoot two mule deer bucks at 203 yards and 460 yards using a Barnes 250gr TTSX bullet. It's my "go-to" hunting rifle for sure since it's a tack driver and the bullet kills everything it hits without any meat damage. I have two other Kimber rifles including a custom 8400 WSM converted to .308 Win and an 8400 Magnum chambered in .300 Win Mag but the Talkeetna is my favorite. 5-shot group at 100 yards with Barnes 250gr TTSX bullets, VV N540 powder, Remington brass and Federal GM215M primers. MCMXI Those aren't deer. Those are what we call Elk down here in Arkansas! I know mulies are larger than white tails but, those things are huge! Don't know if it is the angle of the picture or they are really as big as I am seeing them.
My other hunting rifle, since it's the only one I've used to kill a deer with, is an Accuracy International AI AW in .308 Win. I currently have a 6.5 Creedmoor barrel on that rifle but it takes all of ten minutes to swap out. 5-shot group at 100 yards using Federal Vital-Shok Trophy Copper 165gr Mule deer at 341 yards November 2015
They're kind of average for Montana. They have good sized bodies with 70lb to 90lb of meat typically but not much mass in the antlers. We have a mule deer hanging up in our lobby (shot by a coworker's friend) that was shot a few miles from where I live. It's a monster!

I hunted with this LH Winchester 70 during the modern rifle season. One of the last few "pre-64" lefties out the door before USRAC folded. I've owned it for maybe 10 years but I finally took a deer with it this fall. Even though I own maybe a dozen centerfire hunting rifles, at least 40% of my deer over the last 15 years have been taken with a single rifle, a Savage 10ML2. It's too plain for me to have a photo handy. Some guy on the KY Armslist keeps trying to sell one for $1400 because they don't make them anymore. When I found out they were discontinued I bought the last one Buds had in stock. It was worth $600 for me to not have to scrub black powder fouling every night during the ML season.

Had some of my rifles at the range last weekend. I havent hunted with the Howa in its s&w stock yet, but hopefully ill get the chance in the near future. The bergara has been on the hunt but no shots on game, it IS really good at killing coconuts. The Abolt is my favorite, and go to hunting rifle, nothing says STOP like a 162grn bullet at 3100fps.
I don't hunt a great deal, but this is the last bolt rifle I used when I did: .375H&H Mauser by Maverick223 posted Feb 18, 2017 at 8:15 PM I plan to get a Savage Lightweight Hunter in 6.5Creedmoor at some point, but until then this has just enough umph to get the job done (a "light" charge with a "light" SP bullet actually doesn't do a great deal of damage and all but guarantees a drop with proper projectile placement).
