I've got some theories as to why the government did what they did. And I honestly believe that at its core is th concept of life being more valuable than property. It may have been a misguided decision, but I think the intentions were good. That aside, if you go (travel) to a protest that you believe will turn violent, you know you are choosing to accept the possibility of violence. It doesn't matter what side you're on, you're choosing put your life in danger over something that is less valuable. Pretty stupid in my opinion.
