I posted a while back about a guy who inherited a bunch of guns from his “crazy old aunt”. Well, I got some $$ from the old bank and paid him a visit. I hit the mother load!

I found a cache like that. A friend's co-worker passed away and his widow wanted us to help her estimate the value, and also to give us first crack.

They didn't have children and both had considerable income, most of his going to firearms.

One room was filled with 1911s and 1911A1s, Hi Powers, Berettas, revolvers, shotguns, AKs, ARs, SKS, and a G3 and FAL clone. Another room had '03s and Garands.

Oh yeah, I got a MKIV Combat Elite too with 6 mags. and he threw in several thousand rounds of ammo in various calibers. I just can't quit grinning.

More like "crazy young nephew"! If my heirs wholesaled a collection like that I'd rise from the grave and haunt them so mercilessly and ceaselessly, they'd be forced to get the guns back however they could.

Billhilly, sounds like you stumbled on a once in a lifetime chance. Some guys have all the luck ;)

You're spot on about the crazy nephew only he ain’t that young. He's successfully pizzed away close to 500 grand without stopping to pay off his debts and he’s let his house and property go all to hell.

I’ve heard all my life about somebody bying a 65 Stratocaster in a pawn shop for $100 or an old Vette for next to nothing. This time, it was MY turn so I went straight to the bank and jumped all over the deal. You know what they say about opportunity knocking……

Ok, ok, I got the list, the MKIV, and two more 31's for $5000.

    My buddy dropped $1150 and got 2 4" 36's, a lightweight commander, a 3"625 and a Browning .22 rifle.

We split the truckload of ammo with me getting the biggest part of it.

I know it is wrong to be jealous of another's good fortune, but.....

    I hate you!

    OK, OK, just kidding......

What dash number is the Model 27? A 5" -2 would be a real nice find and worth at least 1K by its self.

I hate you more than Gator.

That's no fair, man. C'mon, spread the joys around......

    Nice job, though.

It's a 27-2 but I've got to dig through a box of grips he has to find the originals for it and several of the others as the old gal put rubber grips on a lot of them.

I'm jealous, basically you paid the current crazy prices for the 4 Colts, and got all those S&W guns for free.
