I guess I don't understand what make an old used Glock worth any more that an old use Ruger SR9 or Smith & Wesson M&P.
I've never understood this with guns that aren't rare or special.
The 17 did have an almost indestructible finish on them according to Glock and boasted that you could drop them in a creek and pull them out and they would still shoot. So will any of the other utility guns.
People are so fickle. If these were new in the box guns, that may be a little different.

I feel the same way, but the reality is that other people will pay money for them. I think the 1st gen Glocks are hideous. My 4th and 5th gen Glocks are awesome.

collectibility! what Gen 1’s they have today will be the only one tomorrow. It would be amazing to have a Gen 1 17 on display in my reloading room!!!

Nothing more than supply and demand. Old Glocks don't appeal to my collecting sensibilities at all, but there are legions upon legions of Glock fans who want the old models, and the guns aren't nearly as readily available as they were three-plus decades ago.

You can ask any price you want. However, does anyone buy?
Look at eBay and even Amazon at the 3rd party sellers. Outragous prices but someone might press the 'buy'button.

I used to carry a well worn Gen 1 Glock 17.

Sold it years ago for $350.00

Shrinking commodities often inflate once production ceases and the inevitable attrition begins. Almost every time a stolen Glock gets used in a crime or an obliterated serial number Glock gets recovered it gets ordered destroyed, original owners die and relatives turn them in for destruction, folks lose interest and turn them in for a $100 gift card, etc. 10,000 becomes 8,000 becomes 5,000, etc. over 30-odd years.:)

Especially with folks who want to get “one of every model” like some serious Ruger or Glock collectors, S&W revolver collectors, Colt SAA, Lee-Enfield collectors, etc.

Now I wouldn’t place any Glock on the same plane as a nice SAA or a pristine K-38, but the Gen 1 Glock 17 was a trendsetter that has spawned truckloads of Gen 2-5 copies and offshoots made in-house and countless millions more after-patent expiration clones and home made guns like the P-80 and Freedom Wolf series of 80% frames. For many shooters today their entire lifetime was dominated by “Glock” so they’re really into them. (Several who have worked for me over the last three decades admit that the only handguns they’ve ever fired are their issued Glock pistols. Sad, but true.:()

Hmmm, I will look for the box today and see whats in there. It has been years since I opened it, I cant recall what it still holds (if anything) off the top of my head.

Cool! Mine is somewhat stock, it only has a replacement front sight, an Apex trigger mod and striker spring kit.

It is a fun range toy :)

    Stay safe.

I am a Glock fan and me and the wife own many but that is way out of line even for sentimentality reasons.

I like the 17L so much, that when it was released 4 years ago, I was going to buy 2. Should have - could have…
