Never thought of my muzzleloading buddies as "the sulfur smelling crowd". Glad to see you smiled when you said that!
Actually my buddies and I tend to think of ourselves as being more like eccentric retreads who enjoy hearing loud booms and seeing billowing clouds of smoke. As for sense of smell,most of us either had a poorly developed one to start with or else it faded so gradually over so many years that smell is more like something we remember on occasion rather than experience frequently.

A friend told me once that he'd had a really bad case of gas, as he thought himself home alone he did what every guy would do. Then his wife walked in with a grocery bag, sniffed, and said "Didn't I tell you not to clean those guns in the kitchen?"
