So 3 years ago I bought a sheet of oak plywood and some 1x4 to build a reloading bench. Before I did anything I found a big old desk and used it.
Fast foreword to now and the wife sees all that wood and wants a project table to go in her office.

This sucker is build to fit wall to wall in her office. The top slides onto the boxes on the ends. I was gonna bolt it together when in place, but it’s rock solid. Counter top high, 10’ long, 32” deep.

I’m sitting here looking at the paint drying and feeling very jealous. She needs the space, but dang it I’m tempted to go measure the back wall of my gun room. C13EF674-B7C0-46F0-97DF-2D4BA970CF77.jpeg

That's a really nice setup. Great idea sliding the boxes in from the end. I like it!

Funny you posted this. I’ve been working on the design of my work/reloading bench. I thought I had it ready to go, now you gave me some ideas. So it seems like some modifications are in order.

You don't need that heavy-duty of a table for an office
You do for reloading
You have options that don't result in ending up in the dog house. Explore said options. You will come through!

Three years? You snooz you lose. Smart wife. lol Good for her. She’s getting a good looking work table. That single sheet of plywood is not rigid enough to mount presses, anyway.

Yea if it was for me I’d do it a little different. Definetly add shelves to the top. Reinforce under the ply wood with a 2x for presses and some doors. I don’t like my stuff visible.

Build another but use countertop material for the top with a piece of 3/4" plywood under it to stiffen it up. :)
