The RUGER OLD ARMY Club

Lightnin ST, My number is 300 but if the forum allows the switch I would be 301, if you want the 300 number. And they allow.I am good with any number. I have been a secret non listed observer member since this got going. I just never cared for being in lights or being public. I am a private type. If that number is important I will switch. I would not know how to do it. BEEMAX

Trooper Joe, Those high polish ROAs with the white grips were made
late in the production history. Many have non target sights and were made for
cowboy action. The are very high price wise. $1400 to $1800 lately. They will
likely not come down since no more production with rising demand. Your thinking about the 1860 is spot on. The new Uberti 1860 stainless is a heart throb for under
$500.
Thanks for the offer , you are ROA member #299 I like to keep a low profile sometimes also

Not a Fire, the alloy rear sight, alloy gripframe and wood grips are all intact. My guess is uncleaned after Pyrodreck,:barf: and stored in a damp holster or gun rug.

Could have been in a safe and "baked", then flooded with water putting out the fire. Then days before safe was opened.

This guy is interesting to watch.

Look at what these guns looked like after being pulled out of a safe.

Good day to you all from a cold and miserable UK! I have just acquired a 7.5" stainless version (dates around 1999 I think) in what appears to be good condition. I have yet to shoot it but have dismantled it and cleaned it up in preparation. Please may I join your gang?View attachment 976935
At least you can watch the FA Cup while the weather is bad. Too bad my Arsenal and Norwich City were sent packing last round.

Thank you - it looks OK, except that the pawl spring has been damaged by careless reassembly in the past. Still, it seems to function fine and without binding.
When I found this one in early September there were very few stainless models on the market so I thought I should grab it quick. Since then quite a few have popped up on the likes of Guntrader, almost all with the case (mine has no case) but all much more expensive. Hopefully I've had a reasonable deal!

You're ROA is a beauty and looks like new.
The cylinder looks like it has a different finish than the rest of the gun.
Could someone have put a high polish on the gun, or could it be a replacement cylinder, or is it only the lighting in the photo?
Good question........ I don't know! The cylinder has a kind of "brushed" look to it, but I don't think that the rest of the gun has been highly-polished (although I don't know how they look as standard). Perhaps just the light? I would be doubtful that a replacement cylinder has been fitted as it's not straightforward to purchase individual components over here.

Your's doesn't look like it has the factory high polish finish which can be seen here: --->>> https://www.thehighroad.org/index.php?threads/the-ruger-old-army-club.538088/page-19#post-7778009
However it's not hard to obtain a mirror finish by using Mother's Mag & Wheel polish.
Or perhaps someone tried to lightly bead blast the cylinder, or brushed it?

Wow! No, it definitely doesn't have the mirror-finish to it, nor do I think that it's been polished much, if at all. I think it's just the way that the light fell when I took the picture. I just hope it shoots straight :)

guns 002.JPG It will shoot fine, if you do your part, the ROA's are known for accuracy, best is with round ball, but I've gotten very good results with the Lee REAL bullets for the ROA.

Two thoughts. One. I wonder at the condition of the bore... Two. I feel like kicking someone’s ass right now...:fire:

$355 now. And it doesn't have a cylinder. And it would be hard to know if then parts, especially the springs would be useable.

A few months ago it would be common to spot a used blue adjustable sight model in a gunshops for $500 or less.
