Same problem with my Ruger P90

Seems like I'm buying more .45 acp ammo than anything else (FMJ,HP). More than 9mm,.22 LR,.30-06,12 ga(00 Buckshot,Turkeyshot, and rifled slugs). Due to the Obama scare, good .45 ammo is getting hard to find around here.

Ya .45ACP is getting hard to find...Plus with the raise in ammo prices..It's rediculous...I went to Wally-World and bought them out of .45ACP 2 weeks ago...They still don't have any...Oh well I have over 1200 round now...hopefully it will last me. :) by the way....Every 1911 kicks but...Once in awhile you get a lemon...but I love my PT1911...here's some gun porn... lol

AdvantagePoint, Mike......

Welcome Aboard.....looks like y'all are new.......you will enjoy THR!!

AP, that picture is sinful!! How in the world are you falla's getting pictures so clear that you can see the whiskers on a chigger?? I bought the SS to try to prevent holster wear on the finish but the blued version is still my favorite. That is one heckuva good looking pistol and it appears that you still have the stock grips. If it shoots as good as it looks, you have a winner! Just curious but what holster do you use with the light?

Our Wally World isn't flooded with ammo but so far, knock on wood, I haven't had a supply problem. Paying $15.00 and change per box though for Blazer Brass. IMO, for the price, that's a mighty good ammo......cheaper than I can buy reloads locally......If I were set up, I know that I could probably reload considerably cheaper but to me, it isn't worth it.

May all your shots be "X's" or.......at least on the paper! :scrutiny:

And all the time it's screaming "Just one more magazine, just another 8 rounds!"
Welcome to the world of the 1911.

Have a Kimber, with a Kimber .22 Conversion unit. Love 'em both, highly recommend the Kimber conversion--it shoots well, and has a perfect crown on it.

Taurus PT1911SS

I have a Taurus PT1911SS. I have had Colt 1911's, Springfield 1911's and Auto Ordinance 1911's.

The cost is relative to the product received.

In this case the Taurus PT1911SS. The list of extra's are accurate. It would have cost me that much to get the same thing Taurus offers at a much lower price.

The Taurus PT 1911SS is very accurate. I have shot several hundred rounds through mine. It simply amazes me each time I shoot it. I have done nothing to it. It needs nothing to improve it. I am a POST certified Police firearms instructor. The Taurus PT1911SS is simply a great deal for the price. No need to apologize for the price, it is what it is. I have to say after shooting Glock 23's for years I prefer any 1911 to them. If I had my choice (Which you don't on a Police Department) It would always be the 1911.

My stainless PT1911 never got the memo. As of last weekend it's had 4000 rounds in about 7 months. Other then being field stripped and cleaned 5 or 6 times, it's been putting rounds down range without a hiccup.

Well, my stainless is still going strong and still is a glut for ammo. Never seems to get its appetite satisfied! It now has a very permanent place to sleep in my gun safe. Been using a good leather glove with a good liner to take up some of the shock at the range. Also enjoy carrying it every now and then. Like someone said, if you get into a gunfight, the last thing that you will notice is the .45 kick!!

I bought my SA 1911 for about $200 less NIB than the taurus was listed at here at the Gander Mountain in Aurora Colorado. A friend of mine has 2 Taurus 1911's, I hate them both. At the same time i have a Taurus Pt917cs that is probably one of the best guns I own.

Enjoy your Taurus. It's easy to get swayed - or even insulted - by others' post and opinions. I've almost got rid of my 3" 1911 once or twice after being consistently reminded that 3" 1911's don't work. Then I go to the range, put another 50 or 100 rounds into the black with no issues, clean it and put it back in my holster.

"My friend uses a Browning 28 guage for rabbit hunting. It has been valued at over $3000.00. I use a ww2 era Iver Johnson 16 guage worth $90.00.
The rabbit tastes the same to me."

Great quote CoyoteHunter!

A friend of mine has a PT1911 and in two weeks has shot over 2000 rounds and not one jam or incident at all.

Mine went 750rds the first time and I'm at 420rds this time I hope it makes it but the first time I was lucky I got my gun back in 5.5 months. I will keep it though because for the first 750 and the last 420 all have gotten good groupings.

I've had my PT1911DT for a couple of months now and it's had several different brands of 230gr hardball, Winchester 230gr JHPs and 185gr Silvertips, from the 2 factory mags and 5 different el cheapo $12.00 Springfield Armory factory mags, and so far not a single FTF or FTE at all.
