I recently got an ASM Walker dated 1971 and it's well fitted and works great, had a few sharp edges on the gripframe, but a few minutes with a buffing wheel solved those problems. I've got 2 other ASM's and they bothe work fine so I can't complain, others have talked of poor fit and finish, but I believe it was later production, just before they went under.

I was throwing out the box that the gun was shipped in and at the bottom was the original box from the factory...bonus...I am going to find another Walker to shoot and keep this one as a Safe Queen as it looks so good, might put it in a presentation case with flask and mold etc

He did mention ASM though. You may have to give Deer Creek Products a call. They are almost the largest supplier on ASM 6989 E. Michigan Rd., Waldron, IN 46182, or PO Box 246, same ZIP; phone 765-525-6181. You have to have some patience when you give them a call. they only run like two phone lines there and have just enough people to operate them. Make sure you request a catalog. After that you have to post a picture of your WALKER

Hey guys, count me in! I just picked up an Armi San Marco Walker this afternoon after a few years of wanting one. At $175 it quickly climbed to the top of my list. Does that sound like a good deal? The gun is in really nice shape and has a real smooth action. The thing reeks of the Old West, of Texas Rangers and screaming Comanches. I CAN'T WAIT to shoot it!

Skinny, Not firing it sounds like the correct course of action. Having the original packaging with an unfired revolver that old puts it into the realm of being a collectors item.

You have to post a picture of your Walker to 'be counted in'.

Shafter, at $175, you got a better deal than I did and I thought mine was too good a bargain to pass up. It'll probably need #10 caps, seems all my ASM guns prefer the 10's. I was a hardcore ROA nut til I saw mine on auction for$200 and minutes to go so I bid and became a Walker owner, and now an 1849 Wells Fargo and a CVA 61 Navy all ASM's.:banghead::banghead:

    need more help

You gunsmith fellas out there please chime in. I got all the parts in I ordered from Deer Creek for my ASM 1968, the hand and springlooked pretty cookie-cutter and a lil' rough around edges. I took the old hand out and after further inspection, recovered the broken spring oiled to the interior of the gun. I worked the hand down to almost identical to the original hand with dremel, files, sandpaper, and steel wool. I assembled the gun again, but when working the action I noticed the bolt does not keep the cylinder fully locked in at full cock. If cocked slow and carefully the action works decent, but more rapid cocking causes the cylinder to turn just a little to far to the right each time. Any idea on what could be doing this?
    Thanks, Erik

REGJEB04...sounds like a weak flat trigger/bolt spring..take the whole gun apart and replace the two fingered flat spring.

Yep! Sure enough. Took it apart and the bolt spring has a small fracture at end of the short finger. Probably just got old and brittle. Ill call Deer Creek Monday and order more stuff. They are very dependable folks, and had my parts to me in just a couple of days. I'll post photos soon.
    Thanks again, Erik

    New Uberti Walker

I ordered a Uberti Walker this morning from Fall Creek Suttlery this morning and decided to join this forum. I've been dying to get one for years and Santa came through for me. I've never shot black powder before and will scan the forums to get educated. I also ordered a powder measure and a powder flask. I know I have some more ordering to do before I can take it out.

It dosen't end there either. Now when you watch "The Outlaw: Josie Wales." you will have to have that Walker with in immediate reach. It's the price you pay for joining the Wlaker club. In another thread, Scrat said he does the same thing.

The other day my wife came home from shopping and caught me watching TOJW with my Walker in one hand and a sandwich in the other. She decided I am now ready for assisted living.

Enjoy the Walker. They are fun to look at, hold, and even shoot once in awhile.

Darn right we do. Usually on Saturdays. the Walker and friends come out, some chips salsa and other snacks. Then the cowboy movies start. Sometimes i will put some old nipples on a few of the guns. just in case you want to dry shoot the tv (LOL) but you have to have your guns by you when your watching cowboy movies

Happy to learn I'm not the only one who watches cowboy movies with a cap-and-ball revolver in or close at hand! Walker for TOJW, Dragoon for True Grit, 1858 for Pale Rider ... etc. :D

count me in! i finally got a picture of my walker i got from ol' legionnaire here :) i did try to reblue the cylinder with some of that home bluing stuff, may have to take another go at it one of these days (i think i didnt properly degrease before i tryed it), plus the funky DIY bluing i tried on the 1860 next to it, might just have to get someone to do a professional job on it lol i feel like a monster and need to try to take care of these fellers right! it is christmas eve after all! :neener:

tom e gun, perhaps you should reconsider rebluing your Walker cylinder. Original Walker cylinders were left unblued. It is the replica market that gave us Walkers with blued cylinders. Apparently the manufacturers believed buyers would be reluctant to purchase a replica with an unblued cylinder, not knowing originals were left unblued. It would probably be easier to remove the bluing, on the cylinder, than to reblue.

madcratebuilder has obtained excellent results on cylinders by using Art's Belgian Blue. The more applications the better the results. But for the $35 price you may be better off going to a professional gun bluer.

After reading this thread I'd be proud to join such a friendly and knowledgable company so here is my application for membership:

Thanks to hardway for the idea of including Blood Meridian in the picture. Since this is my first revolver and first caplock firearm I look forward to your patience!

    Walker Pics!!

    Hey Gents,
Finally got around to having the Misses take a few shots of me holding my ASM 1968 Walker. One image I have the pistol in a "still life" type on an 1830's table with period items of the 1840's familiar with U.S.M.R. during the Mexican War. The other is an image of me with ole "La Beef" in my 150th Shiloh reenactment impression. My company will be going there to portray Arkansas troops in March 2012. This image is remenicent of famous Texas Ranger, Col. John S. RIP Ford who fought for the Confederacy and owned two Walkers. Hope you all enjoy and had a Merry Christmas.
