No.
There is no "right" to misinform.
There is no "right" to sell bad information.
There is no "right" to commit wholesale fraud on the community at large.
Freedom of the press =/= freedom to lie to everyone.
I think, if I were an arms maker producing an AR or AK styled weapon, and if I had a bottomless wallet, I would sue every media outlet that used the term for defamation.
Much in the same way that GM would sue a media organ for indiscriminate use of the term "death car" to refer to every SUV made, simply because they bear a passing resemblance to military armored all-purpose vehicles on which a machine gun is mounted.
Unhappily, most arms makers don't have bottomless wallets.
I wonder if the NRA or NRA-ILA would contemplate a campaign along those lines. Assuming, of course, that they could secure funding for it.
But then, that funding comes from shooters.
And they're a fickle lot.
