The use for hollowpoint slugs?

Hi good folks,
What application would you use "hollowpoint" slugs for? Would they be okay for black bear defense? Thanks, John

There are some very interesting slugs available these days including the Winchester Partition and the Remington all copper HP . Both are very accurate and expand and penetrate very well. They are good for any hunting situation.

Slugs out of a shotgun will take down just about anything on this continent short of a rogue elephant escaped from a zoo, probably even that. Many people use them in Alaska for defense against brown bears. So there is your answer.
