The Usual Anti-Gun Blather

There are some great comments there!

I took a moment to reply. I hope everyone can drop by and show them how nice and well spoken we 2a supporters can be!

Well, since we are "largely white men from suburban and rural areas" we shouldn't have any First amendment rights either. I wonder what my wife and three daughter would think of this.

This is a reprint of an article the was written a week or so ago. Though, I guess it makes sense to attack it wherever it appears.

I'm always amazed when they say things like, "The gun lovers outnumbered the gun control bunnies 20 to 1." And then go on to say "61% of American favor more gun control." SOMETHING DOESN'T ADD UP!

Here in Ohio a few years ago, Toby Hoover (the Kelly Bundy of Ohio gun control) held a rally against CCW in a park in Independence, Ohio. When she showed up, she and her merry band of freaks were already outnumbered at least five to one by pro-gun people. We basically surrounded her and you couldn't turn a camera on her with getting a pro-gun person with a sign in the scene. Then to make matters worse, John Lott showed up in the middle of her rant, and the news media practically trampled her to death rushing to interview HIM.

I was skeptical when the OP said that the argument was won, but holy smokes, Laura got herself whipped REAL good. I'm impressed at the civility, calm fact-quoting, and logic used by ALL the commenters. It goes to show that the gun control argument doesn't hold water however you look at it.

Thanks for that, Rumble! I got in a hurry before I left for work. I wouldn't have posted this thing if it wasn't for the quality of the comments... VERY well done rebuttals! Clear, concise, and logical, without being at all offensive. The type that will help win over the fence sitters!

She's yet another "journalist" who knows what's best for the rest of us. She has the plague that so many in the media have these days. I have come to call it fact avoidance disease. Why look at the facts when you can ignore them and make up some BS that fits into your world picture?

My wife is a liberal for the most part. She is a vested member of the touchy-feely crowd. She also carries a 9mm because she knows how much respect criminals have for people after being raped 25 years ago. There is much truth to the statement, "The difference between a conservative and a liberal is one mugging."

She's cherry picking her polls. What she ignored is the fact that over twice as many Americans blame crime on culture, rather than the availability of guns. The majority of this "majority" also don't think stricter gun controls would actually do anything to reduce crime.

All of which begs this question. Why would anyone vote for stricter gun-control, if they didn't think it would do any good? Something doesn't smell right. :scrutiny:
