As I fret over not having .380acp dies, now universally out of stock, I start having fantasies about a .380 carbine.

Surely no one is manufacturing those. Right?

To whom, I wonder, is Hi Point selling its pink 380 rifles, and what are they mostly used for?

    I want one for sure!

My question is why on 380acp carbine?

And a valid answer is because, 'merica, but just have to ask.

Some dislike the brutal recoil of the 9mm Luger carbines.

Or just want a companion for their little ghetto blaster .380.

The Germans (and Austrians, too) actually had some quite fancy carbines in 9x17.

A pink 380 hipoint has to be targeted at customers who use a 380 handgun primarily. With only one type of ammo around it kinda makes sense. And while not award winning for looks, hipoint carbines are pretty good guns especially at the price point.

I'd rather just have a 22 but I tend to have that opinion about PCC's in general. In a rifle platform I will generally want a rifle cartridge. I do understand the argument about pairing a rifle and pistol of the same caliber but that argument makes more sense to me in something more like a 357 or 44.

The thing I read is it was added so they could sell in countries that you can't buy military calibers in, specifically Mexico.

I don't know if it's true story all and can't say ideger want a 380 carbine

Makes sense if you own a hi point 380 pistol. Butt ugly but work's. Its my twin! Maybe a few shades prettier then I.

A lot of the local hoodlums have been telling me how they cherish the convenience of a carbine and a handgun in the same caliber.

    And same color scheme.

    That makes sense.
Wow, that’s it. That’s the purpose.

    .380acp gives you a “center-fire 22” carbine, sort of.

But shooting a bullet wider than it is long.

Good for walking right up to squirrels who disrespect the hood and going, “Boo-Yah!”

I have the Hi-point carbines 9mm 40sw 45 acp and the 10mm. I have thought about getting one in 380. If i see a used one for under 200.00 Then i might grab one. I traded my Hi-point pistols towards my CZ 457. They were just safe queens. I didn't shoot them after upgrading. I got more for them than i paid. Out of pocket for the CZ was 58.00.

On the wild frontier ammo is scarce , cartridge comparability is crucial . sometimes a longer shot is the difference between having a rat burger or just tree bark for dinner. Riding off into the sunset with a pistol and carbine in the same chambering wearing a bandoleir of .380s in a pink geo convertible , the man without a name. Oh wait, his name is Steve . well whatever, you know what I'm talking about.

I'd buy this, just for plinking around and it might even get some good velocity , like 1000 fps.

Perhaps more for trash pandas that might have shrugged off a .22lr

I honestly would love to have a light weight single shot in 380 acp . I would make a decent reloadable critter getter

Depending on how tight your chamber dimensions are, you _might_ be able to get away with resizing .380 ACP in a .38 Special/.357 Magnum die. You'd need different shell holders, but the base dimeters of the two cases are fairly close.

You _should_ also be able to use 9x19 bullet seating and taper crimp dies -- I emphasize should because I haven't actually tried.

Memaw would love to have a 380 carbine. I would like to see one in a Sub 2000.

BTW, the 380 needs a 223 shell holder and sizing die. Taper crimping becomes a problem with 9mm dies.

Don't laugh at that camo pattern.
Many game animals are color blind, so the .380 HiPoint carbine in pink and purple looks like green and brown, just shades of gray.
But for hunter safety it is almost as effective as a blaze orange vest.

    OK, I'm sold.

    But here's what I want.

A MechTech carbine to take a double stack .380 like my CZ83.

Long barrel, modest suppressor.... oh yeaaaah!
