So I ordered an AR earlier this week through my local shop. A Spikes Tactical Midlength complete rifle with flip up rear sight. When i first started looking at these they had a 3 - 4 week wait time. Now it is up to 6. Guess their popularity is growing. I don't really mind the wait and at least in 6 weeks the weather will be more suitable for outdoor shooting. Time to start stocking up some ammo!

I thought maybe this was a music thread and you were commenting on "The Wait" by The Killing Joke.

    Spikes makes a nice lower.

The wait will be worth it. That is an excellent rifle.

Here's some Spike's Tactical porn to ease the wait...
Website said 2-3 week wait on the lowers, received mine in 4 but happy with the end results.

I also ordered a complete railed middy & custom lower from them too and still have about 4 weeks to go:uhoh:

I was 9 weeks into my 3-4 week wait for my SBR upper. What I got was an extra slot milled into the barrel for the "third fsb pin?" and a flash hider that looked like it got waaaayyy too hot then set down on something plastic. Fit and finish get a D- My buddy ordered a Blem and his looks better than mine. At least they got the spider right.

My LGS called them and they said send it back. For another "3-4 week wait" Seeing as Ive had 2 engravers butcher my SBR lower, the fact that the FH will be a supressor mount and the FSB will be covered, I have decided to go with the "Hammer Dammit" look for this SBR.

It does work though. I just fail to see the hype. I really wanted their 10" rail for this upper. Now I am not sure it is worth it. I believe they have become too big too fast and cannot handle their own success.

    Cool shirts though.

Mot45acp, out of all the Spike's rifles owners I have seen or spoken to, you are only the second that I have heard of having any issues at all. Not denying your story or anything, just stating that the positive reviews far outweigh the bad. The other case I have heard of was a chamber or lug issue scratching the brass on ejected shells. In that case, the owner was given an entirely new upper with no issues.

I stand by my opinion on the company...no other AR vendor out there provides more gun for the money than Spikes.

They always have a booth at the gunshows in S. Fla. with plenty of product. However, they are no longer offering any discounts. (i.e. $800 for a rifle, mag, rear sight, nice case and t-shirt).

I ordered mine in mid January and was quoted 4 weeks. It shipped at the end of week 2. Have some hope, it may not be as long as you were told.

A company that provides a quality product with a low price will always have their name spread like a virus.

I think that I would rather wait for that quality product, than have them try to meet some unreasonable delivery schedule and have the quality drop accordingly.

Here is my mid length Spike's AR-15. I bought all the parts for the lower receiver for $160. Then I traded a Leupold Tactical 3.5x10 that my father in law gave me (He said it was okay) for a brand new complete Spike's mid-length upper. Since I wasn't able to assemble the lower myself, my LT. is an armorer and said he would do it for me. Well then I got it back, he hooked it up! He handed my a rifle with extra parts, new flippable front and rear sight, ambi-safety, tactical charging handle, etc! So here it is....Oh with the cost of the lower and the gas I spent to drive to get the upper my cost of the entire rifle is....drums please....$190. What do you think?

Don't feel bad about your wait. I ordered an XCR and was told two weeks. 11 weeks later it showed up.

That was hell, especially when I kept hearing "just two more weeks" when I called.

Good buy though. I was torn between getting a BCM or a Spikes. I went with BCM because it was in stock. What can I say, I like immediate gratification.
