Anyone know who makes a thin butt plate for the 870 syn stock? I want to shorten my LOP and don't want to change stocks. Smooth is preferred. Thanks.

I don't know of any thin pads or even thinner pads. Most people need the pad and then some.

You can get around this a couple ways. Pull your recoil pad off, it is rubber glued to a plastic insert unless they have changed them recently. You can grind the rubber off and get a solid 3/4" shorter length of pull and still maintain the integrity of the stock. The Remington stock needs the recoil pad insert as it is the rear structural component for the hollow stock.

The best way is to cut the stock off the desired amount and then file down the insert portion of the recoil pad where it fits snugly again, then sand the rubber pad off to match the profile of the stock. This way you get to keep the pad and the comfort it offers and have your length of pull too.
