Things of beauty

Ditto on the Browning Hi-Power. Nowadays companies pay people to design products that look as sleek and aggressive as the Hi-Power. It's hard to believe the original was just a coincidence.

Revolver - as much as I like my Smiths, for only one, I'd go with Freedom Arms

For a semi, purely from looks, those Kimbers with blue, silver and rosewood always looked good,(so-so functioning notwithstanding). In reality I like my HK P7

When I was growing up, a neighbor down the street had a Browning Hi Power he brought back from WWII. And it was in PRISTINE condition!

I told him if he EVER wanted to sell it to get ahold of Mom and Dad right away and they'd contact me. (I was in the Navy at the time.)

Unfortunately for me, he did sell it...to someone else many years later.

*sigh*

I would have loved to have had that beauty.

It's in the eye of the beholder. But which one revolver & which one pistol do you think are the best looking? These would not be customs, but out of the box guns any of us could buy ( finances allowing ). If your pistol choice is something like a 1911, be specific about which one. There are so many, and they can look vastly different.

Thanks,

As you said it is in the eye of the beholder, in my eyes that would be a new in the box properly stored Colt Model 1898 revolver preferably one made before they were redesigned to fire the 45 ACP but an later model would be acceptable. Even though the .45 is more cartridge than I can handle I would care for it and feed it at least twice a month.

a four inch combat masterpiece for the revolver

a colt 1911 gold cup national match for the auto

Just got this .357 Ruger SP101 Deluxe Talo and it is better than I had hoped it would be.
Nothing cheezy about the factory engraving.
Odd, it came from the seller with the plain black grips but I got my proper replacements today from Altamont through the help of Talo Inc.

I am amazed at the differences in the opinions of beautiful guns. I guess it's good that we all have different taste. For me it would be a short Colt Peacemaker in revolver and a Ruger 1911 in pistol.

I have a Smith and Wesson 66 that is very easy on the eyes.

As well as a couple of 686's and a 568.

I have a Smith and Wesson 1911PD that's very attractive as well.
