I won't ask my son what he thinks if this, I heard enough two weeks ago (he has an AR rifle varmint rig and an M4gery and wants 5.56 carbine but has strong opinions and words for panic prices).

What's the big deal. I can try to sell my laptop for ten million dollars tomorrow. Doesn't mean anyone is gonna buy it. How about we let adults purchase things they want from other adults for a price that is agreeable to both, just as liberty says they can, and we keep our own noses out of their business?

Generally speaking, prices across the board are coming back down, albeit very slowly. Things like .223/5.56 and AR-15 related things though, I think, will be the very last to stabilize so I think you'll be seeing these prices for a while.

I, for one, am glad to have abandoned .223/5.56 during all this nonsense.

And also, if you're so infuriated by these high prices, you're more than welcome to stop by your local gun store/retailer/online ammo shop and buy ammo there. Oh wait...they don't have any you say? Hmm, what to do...

...and so it goes on.

Enough with the bellyaching about prices for frigs sakes. It's the nature of ANY beast when supply is threatened, or any given item is in very high demand. Surprised some of you didn't blow a gasket when Tickle Me Elmos were $400 back in the day.

If prices are going down, the free market system is showing it's had enough of inflated pricing due to scarcity. The free market system works, fancy that!

It's not the prices of guns, mags and ammo that really bother me. What gets to me is all the threads complaining about them in the past month. It just goes to show how quickly allegedly freedom loving people will abandon the free market and liberty when they just don't get what they want. That truly scares me. I always thought gun owners were more liberty-minded than most folks and more aware the high costs of restrictions on individuals freedoms. But as soon as the chips are down and the prices on their toys go up, they could sound like any OWS protester screaming about there not being enough government controlling prices.

It's never surprised me. Plenty of threads here in the past month or two showed plenty of folks willing to sacrifice other freedoms for their guns. The mentality of "doesn't affect me, I don't care" applies to all political leanings. Most folks will embrace and legislate away a freedom or choice to something they don't agree with and don't even participate in. There are plenty of pro-gun people I completely disagree with. In some cases, "guns" are the only thing I have in common with them.

Earlier today I spotted a Craigslist ad offering to trade two genuine boxes of Hostess Twinkies for a Chevy or GMC Duramax Diesel pickup truck. The value given for the Twinkies was fifty grand. The ad's poster added that "this is a serious ad."
