CCW, thats going to be my guess, is that the ram plug blocks an errant primer from coming out and directs to the outlet port.

Arthritis has got me where I can't reload, shoot or practically anything anymore, but the primer catcher definitely helped for the last year or two. I probably picked up 10,000 off the ground over the 20+years I had in reloading before buying one. Definitely get one if you can.

CCWdownrangeP2 - pm me your address and I will mail you a few of the front slot covers, they easily fit into a normal envelope and don't cost a fortune to make.

Technically, all spent primers are supposed to leave the ram in the back, but sometimes, I assume because of the angle they are being ejected, the position of the decaping pin (e.g. not 100% in the middle), they are being thrown out to the front. Some people used pieces of straws to cover the slot in the front - this is just the more sophisticated version of it :)

TheGerman, Thank you. Look for the PM, I certainly appreciate the gesture. You make a great product and if you continue with stellar service to your customers you'll always do well. CCW

I got one for the RCBS Turret back when I first saw them. Great product!
As to trust in the industry, you pups probably don't remember back before the interweb. When ordering from Brownells, you filled out their orderform (on paper), mailed it in an envelope with a signed blank check. They filled the order, figured the shipping and filled in your check and sent it through. Never a problem.

I remember doing that with Cabela's many moons ago. They had you write "Not over $X.00" on the line in the check in case some miscreant got the mail.

Many years ago I started with black electrical tape and then I moved up to 3M black electrical tape. And now I am using green 3M electrical tape. It is impossible for a primer to get past the RCBS primer catcher when secured with electrical tape.

Got my Primer Catcher yesterday.
I'm Very pleased with it.
No more chasing spent primers.
I ordered it from Amazon.com on Monday morning, received it by noon Thursday.

If you guys on here are thinking about this primer catcher for Rock Chucker iv, go ahead and get it you won't be sorry. Best upgrade I've made in awhile.

Richard,

His reply back, thanking me for the email and he wasn't worried about it, stating "I found the reloading community to be so trustworthy" that "with over 1000 customers so far, not a single one did not pay."
IMHO I just think that speaks very highly of the reloading community and our personal beliefs , we may tinker with things, invent things to make reloading easier, more precise or what have you. But when we need something from a supplier, everything gets squared away.

Years ago my wife and I worked gun shows. Seems we always met the nicest people at gun shows and in the gun shop we owned. Go figure huh? I am also a bike / motorcycle enthusiast and my wife and I enjoy going to local "bike Nights". Again, we meet the nicest and friendliest people. When I want to be around people I enjoy I go to a gun show or motorcycle bike night. :)

fguffy - if you are interested, send me a message with your name/address and I will send you one for free (we can treat it as a post in the PIF thread, so you can pay it forward somehow) - would love to show you what you are missing out on :)
