CCW, thats going to be my guess, is that the ram plug blocks an errant primer from coming out and directs to the outlet port.
I remember doing that with Cabela's many moons ago. They had you write "Not over $X.00" on the line in the check in case some miscreant got the mail.I got one for the RCBS Turret back when I first saw them. Great product!
As to trust in the industry, you pups probably don't remember back before the interweb. When ordering from Brownells, you filled out their orderform (on paper), mailed it in an envelope with a signed blank check. They filled the order, figured the shipping and filled in your check and sent it through. Never a problem.
His reply back, thanking me for the email and he wasn't worried about it, stating "I found the reloading community to be so trustworthy" that "with over 1000 customers so far, not a single one did not pay."
IMHO I just think that speaks very highly of the reloading community and our personal beliefs , we may tinker with things, invent things to make reloading easier, more precise or what have you. But when we need something from a supplier, everything gets squared away.
Many years ago I started with black electrical tape and then I moved up to 3M black electrical tape. And now I am using green 3M electrical tape. It is impossible for a primer to get past the RCBS primer catcher when secured with electrical tape.
