Those That Carry Two Guns, do you........

Where I live now I do not have my CCW permit yet.

When I lived in Oregon I usually only carried one gun.
When I carried two, one was in my pocket and one was in an ankle holster. That way if I was in my truck I could access the ankle holster easier than the pocket.
Sometimes I kept one in my pocket and one in my backpack or saddle bags on the bike.

Right and Left, no Crossdraw. It is easy to draw with the weak-side hand and transfer when the hands come together. If the strong-side hand is disabled or occupied, the weak-side can draw normally instead of cavalry which is particularly awkward with the forward cant of many crossdraw holsters. I also find crossdraw very hard to conceal because the butt sticks out forward.

I cross carry, draw with my right in a holster on my belt. I don’t always dual carry, but when I do it’s either a 380 in an ankle or cowboy boot holster,

If I am hiking, then nothing on the belt and my 45c Mares leg in my back pack, with my 45 or 9 in a cross carry shoulder holster mounted on the left back pack strap. Drawing with my right hand. I draw the mares leg by reaching over my shoulder and pulling it out of the pack, using either hand. In bear country I will change my ammunition to a heavier load in the Mares legs.

I have been considering a chest holster for my Ruger Redhawk 454 when I am hiking in bear country, but probably won’t, as the mares leg and the one on my shoulder are at the limits of weight when I am hiking allready!

Strong side, I leave the LCP in left front pocket and add a gun on the belt.

I can shoot weak side pretty well but the draw feels awkward.

I've carried two guns a few times off duty. in shorts and a tucked in shirt because of the event I was attending I had a S&W 642 in each front pocket. other times when concealed I had a gun on the belt and another on the opposite side in a pocket. each time/way I had something I could access with either hand should one be disabled or preoccupied....

...do you position both guns for strong side carry or one for each hand to draw?

I’m not talking about drawing and shooting with a gun in each hand. But in case your strong hand is busy; like holding something when your are attacked or approached, then you can draw with your weak hand.

I used to carry my BUG for strong side carry. About 15 years ago someone on another forum convinced me of the solid reasons to prepare for both, right And left hand draw. I’ve been carrying and training this way ever since and I’m quite confident and comfortable doing so.

How about you? What are your thoughts?
No
