I traded a Springfield for a CZ75 Compact about 15 years ago. Later I bought an SP01 Phantom. Next a SP01 Tactical. They do tend to multiply. A rework by Cajun Gun Works takes a fine firearm to a whole new level.

I was going to reply, but yours was almost word for word what I was going to say.
I have both the 75B and Shadow 2. My two favorite 9mm handguns.

I’ve never been very fond of the stock 75/75B. Great design, but crudely executed, in my experience. Pretty lousy trigger, roughly finished, etc.
The various “enhanced” CZs are great shooters and outstanding values, though. Far nicer in fit and finish, too.

The last gun I purchased was this SAR 2000 clone in stainless steel. It’s a whole lot of pistol for less than $400.
I also have a few clones and 4 real CZ 75’s. They’re my favorite handgun!

I will have to agree on the 75B, but it was a cheap and easy fix to get the trigger from just OK to almost as good as the trigger on my Shadow 2.

Scipowicz: As it's a CZ in DA/SA, that's all I need to know, as long as it can be concealed about as easily as my 75D / PCR.
Everything on my PCR is stock. Zero mods.
Literally, if a CZ has the basic features I want, I will buy a model which I've never handled. Not kidding at all.

I have an older BD model, great pistol. The trigger was a bit creepy and overly curved so trigger slap was an issue originally. I replaced the hammer and trigger with Cajun Gun Works parts and now it’s crisp and comfortable, a huge improvement. Replacing the hammer was a pain with the old models and if you do it make sure you get or make a slave pin. Trust me on that one. The damned elevator spring kept trying to escape.

I really liked my BD model. It looked great. The weight of it and the way it fit my hand felt very natural. Never had a malfunction. It was very accurate and didn't have much felt recoil. I liked it even better after having it "Cajun-ized" with a trigger job and new hammer. Great shooter.
For some reason, I didn't really love it. I don't know why. I ended up selling it to a friend of mine, who seems to love it.

I have a CZ 75B in 40 S&W and I like it. It’s a very well built handgun. It is reliable and fairly accurate, with most any ammo. A few years back, I was looking at the used handgun at a local shop, where I seen a Springfield P9C. It is a CZ 75 clone. I looked at it and handled it. It followed me home. The fit and finish on it is excellent. Deep, well polished blue and much tighter than, at least, the CZ 75, I have. It shoots just as good as the CZ and just as accurate. If I had to choose between the two, I would keep the Springfield P9. It is a much better made handgun, than the CZ. You don’t see many for sale and they are usually priced pretty cheap. IMOP they are very nice handguns.
Well , I pulled the trigger(you see what I’m doing here) on the 75B…what a beauty to shoot, like the classic look and is really smooth. I’ve got about 200 rounds through it, no hiccups, and is making me look like I know what I’m doing. I’m a plus size guy with big hands and it fits my hand like a glove.

That made me laugh, ‘cause the CZ-75 is one of a small handful of pistols that do that for me. The others being the Glock 30, the Walther PP, and the M&P EZ. My other pistols are more aspirational, offhand accuracy-wise.

I'm a huge fan.
They are reliable. They fit my hand better and thus are more accurate for me than any other gun I own or have shot (other than maybe my 1911s). There are two complaints most people have. The triggers are only so-so, especially the DA pull and the sights are puny. However, those are very easy to change out (and many people do). If it is as accurate as it is, apparently the sights work fine even if most of us would prefer better sights.
I've had my full sized CZ 75B for about 20 years (maybe a tad more now). I stopped counting the number of rounds through it a bit over 15 years ago when I had I just over 10,000 rounds through it. It had been nearly 100% reliable through 20k+ rounds now. It is easily my most accurate gun.
About 20 years ago I bought a CZ 40B (about a year after buying my 75B), basically a 75B in .40SW with a 1911 grip angle. I liked it, it was reliable and accurate. However, I hadn't warmed to .40S&W (yet) and needed the money more than the gun and sold it a year or so later. To replace it, I'd have to buy one used and they go for 2 to 3 times what I paid for it new, otherwise I'd have another.
I currently have an all steel 75B Compact, and the two alloy compacts, the P01 and PCR (I don't really need all of those very similar guns so I may sell one or two, but then I've been thinking that for a few years and haven't done it yet). All are 100% reliable (though only with many hundreds to low thousands of rounds), almost as accurate as my full sized CZ, feel as good in my hands and the alloy versions make good carry guns.
I'm glad you plan to check them out. Like any gun, they aren't for everyone. But if you like them, you're going to really like them.

It is a great gun (see my post before I saw your last post in this thread). I've had other full sized 9mms, including a SIG P226 (I love the classic P-series SIGs), and the only one that has stayed for good is my CZ 75B. I think you'll like yours. Don't forget a range report.
Ah the CZ40B, a failed collaboration between the Colt and CZ. They discontinued the model when the collaboration fell through and you could buy one brand new in the box for $299 from Gander Mountain. I had one of the models that had the Colt roll mark and foolishly sold it. My father in law still has his CZ version and loves it. Personally, I didn't like the way it shot and didn't want another caliber. Now CZ owns Colt which is irony after the failed collaboration.

If I had to cull my handguns down to one, the CZ 75B would probably be that one... especially if I got to keep my .22LR Kadet kit for it! (If you have a CZ-75B and don't have a Kadet kit, consider getting one!)
