Four years in the Army, July 2001-July 2005. I didn't particulary enjoy it but have never regretted my decision to join. If nothing else it helped me to grow up in a hurry and appreciate what we have in this country more than ever.

Having a line for police experience might be usefull given the questions about service, and the fact that police often seem to think that they're military(referals to 'civilians' and such). Checkboxes for AD/Guard/Reserve/Retired.
I'm also a bit suprised at the number who've switched services.
I'm always surprised at the number of folks who do relatively short hitches or who get beyond 10-12 years but don't make 20. I'd have presumed that, once in that far...
I had a pretty positive experience (6+ years) and the Army paid for my degree WHILE I was on duty. I didn't have to use my GI Bill either Now I get compensation every month and nearly free lifetime medical care. Only some of my inmates have a better deal than that! Army Security Agency
