But I spent most of my time as a Clerk, then as a platoon sergeant, which was the same thing.

4 years USAF (CCT/South Vietnam in 1967-1968, switched to SP/West Germany in 1968-1970). I was about "this" close to becoming a "lifer", but the guy who gave me my final retention interview was a 12-year "paperwork" vet with 3 stripes, and I made 4 (SSGT) UNDER 4 years....and was on the list for TSGT! I "cheated fate and challenged death" in combat for 13 months, and that was ENOUGH! Back then, the pay was TERRIBLE! Great duty, though!

31 years "cheating fate and challenging death" as a LEO! Now happily retired for almost 4 years!

I plan on trying to get into the USAF academy in CO when I graduate high school.

USA retired. Early retirement just over 15 as part of force reductions. Around the block a coupla' times including Panama and Shield/Storm.

USMC E-5 Med Retired

I've never enlisted, despite wanting to. When there wasnt one big thing keeping me from enlisting, it was a pile of small things. Even now I couldn't enlist for reasons I wont go into here.

On Mom's side of the family, I was the first man that didnt serve. Not exactly something I'm proud of.

To those who have served and those that still are, thank you.

Stationed at Ronny's Rocket Ranch(Warren AFB, WY) and Florennes AB, BE(GLCM) back when we staring down the Bear, 1979-1989.
