I think a national meetup would be a great thing for THR to have. I'm just thinking out loud here, but is it possible to start planning to have one next summer? Perhaps it could be somewhere right in the middle of the country, like Colorado, or New Mexico? (I'd vote for the NM desert.) I'm thinking there are those diehard THR members (like me) who would make it a summer vacation.

Again, I'm just thinking out loud and I don't know how feasible it is, but can we at least think about it?

If you plan on doing this just remember a few things.

Is the place accessible to everyone coming?

    Is there enough room?

    Do you need a permit?

What kind of facilities are there, can't have everyone using the bushes. Some won't want to or won't be able to.

    Lastly, is it legal?

Alot of things to think about, if your thinking New Mexico, maybe the NRA center.

Heck, Id be more than happy to attend.

Just make sure the date is far enough ahead for folks to plan for time off.

I'm already thinking a Winter 2004 shoot in the Mojave like the Ridgecrest one is a good idea...

I was just thinking out somewhere in the middle of the beautiful NM desert on BLM land (no range officers, we can shoot at night and out of cars, have fun, etc). If ya have to use the bush, quit whinin'!:neener: If more people like the NRA center idea, though, that's good too.

Great positive responses 'ere people... Keep them up and we could have this shoot become reality.

Edited to add: Would somewhere around Socorro work? It's flat, desolate desert (actually around where they set off the first A-Bomb), but it's really neat and beautiful, IMO.
