I have a Tikka T3 Hunter with a wooden stock. I am so impressed with the rifle that I am in the market for another one but in .223. I am looking at a Tikka T3 Lite in stainless with the synthetic stock. Not having been able to find one in any of the local shops here in San Antonio Texas, I am considering buying one online, but I have never handled the synthetic stock. Can anyone provide any personal feedback on the look and feel of that stock? I hear that they are fairly decent. BTW, I would love to find a Tikka T3 Hunter with a wooden stock in .223 or .308 (left handed). Does anyone know who may have on is stock? Thanks up front for any info!

Hey Trent, welcome to THR !! .....though the synthetic stock feels just a bit small for a .308, I still find it comfortable, tight and solid. I have no complaints.
I got mine from an excellent local operation I've used for years, Barrows, in Butler,Ga.Their price was better than all the in-stock,internet prices I could find ( I think I paid about $580,incl. tax). They're Georgias largest gun dealer,I believe.
I'd bet they have one in stock if you can't find it elsewhere. I don't have a number handy, but 411.com will give it to you quick. M.
P.S. Or try these guys, I got a CZ from them recently, good operation spoken well of here by many.

I have tikka 3 lite stainless in 223 with 1/8 twist. shoots well.and its left hand,my first left hand ever, but the stock feels fine to me,im not sorry for buying it,i like the weight, silky smooth action,

The synthetic Tikka T3 stocks are good.
They flex less than many of the factory stocks. I'd put them between your average Savage, Rem 700 ADL, etc and the higher end rifles like the A-Bolts and Sakos.

There's not really much to say. It's a pretty good snythetic.

I bought a left-handed Tikka T3 in 30/06, stainless w/ the synthetic stock earlier this year and really like it. I have been deer hunting (not shooting) with it several times in the last couple of weeks and like the way the gun carries and the way the stock feels.

Not as nice as my 1940's Savage 99, but it rains a here in Washington and the Tikka is a good fit for the climate here. I originally planned on replacing the synthetic stock with a laminated wood one, but after using the rifle a fair amount I'm going to keep it as it is.

Many Thanks!

Thank you all for the fine input. One last thing. I understand the the Tikkas come with factory rings. Do the stainless models come with stainless/silver rings?

The color of the rings will match the color of the barrel. I bought black rings to go with my stainless barrel because I did not like the silver colored rings on my black scope.

I have one in 300wsm, it's better then peanutbutter & jelly. MHO.. I would buy a better set of rings.

Welcome to the dark side Luke

Once you have a synthetic stock you'll look at all the others and think about changing them to synthetic
