Well this weekend is the bigger better gun show, the Pope show. I know some dont like Pope since he said he was going to wand people, but last one we went two a few months ago he didnt. So I know Darrin and I will likely be there saturday morning sometime. So I figured see if anyone else was going to go, would want to kinda converge on there. Maybe grab some lunch around it somewhere. Maybe go to a range of some sort if anyone buys something and HAS to shoot it ;). The Pope show usualy has ALOT more guns than the Goodman show, and does take a lot longer to walk as its about 3 times the size. I know Im not going for any perticular thing other than look ;).

So if anyone wants to meet up....let us know. Dont plan on anything huge just some good old gun talk probaly.

Why the heck not. I can look at 20 inch ARs while I am there. I can't speak for Sheslinger but I am sure she will go.

Nothing like a gunshow to chase away the blaaahhhss. Well that and liquor but I digress.

Chris

I'm there. I'll get out of work at 8:30, by the time I get home and shower, I can be back on the road about 9:15 or so, but I have to stop at the bank to cash the paycheck before I head out. Now, I'm going to need some help. Ya'll have to remind me that I MUST pay bills with that money, no unnecessary gun-stuff buying, please. I'm planning to bring the M-1 Carbine to unload on some sucker, er, I mean sell to someone. Which exit is it off I-24 anyways?

Frank

OEF_VET - when do you sleep?

From Nashville or Murfreesboro, take I-24 to Exit 66/Sam Ridley Parkway - Smyrna. Go north on Sam Ridley Parkway approximately 1 mile. When you intersect Old Nashville Highway, turn right onto Old Nashville Highway (east). Go approximately 2 miles to the next traffic light. You are now at the intersection of Old Nashville Highway and Almaville Road. Look to your right. The show is located in the old Wal-Mart building.

We will be there. Lunch and maybe some range time sound great. I really feel bad every time at ASP because of the range fees so if you guys want to suggest another place, go ahead.

Sheslinger

I might go too.

There is a 3 gun competition in Clarksville this Saturday.

What time? I might make it by 2 or 3 pm. (but if it is not convenient for everyone else, don't change it for me)

Todd

Has a time been nailed down to meet for the show? I'll probablly be back in town from FL. on Friday night. If I'm not to tired from the driving I'll meet up with you all.

Side Note:

I just posted / volunteered (spelling ?) to be the event coordinator for the 30th get together when Preacherman comes to town. If any one wants to help out I'd appreciate it. Fair warning to all if I'm left to my own devices to plan this shin dig :D :D

edited to past the link to the thread I just mentioned:D

What is the fee at ASP? On Target in Murfreesboro is a very nice range; fee is $15.

I probably won't make it to the show until sometime in the afternoon. I have relatives visiting from out of state later this week, and I really want to spend some time with them.

Glockten,

I think ASP is about $12 - $14. I have an annual membership so I don't know if the fees have changed or not.

...Dave

ASP is 12 bucks. I wouldnt mind trying On Target if we are going to shoot. We will be already most the way down there. ASP is on the other side of Metro. I would like to put a mag or two though sheslingers new sw99 compact if she dont mind.... :D But other than that I dont *HAVE* to shoot, but would likely. Trying to save a little money but heck fun is fun.

I wouldnt mind putting it a little later in the day for all the rest of ya'll. Like either meet up in Nashvega to convoy down there somewhere near I24 onramp or such, cant think right now tho. Or meet there outside the show or inside. I wouldnt mind like meet at someplace like Cracker Barrel or such for a lunch and head down, give dave time to sleep ;), glockten time to visit with the fam, and maybe time for gamegod to get down and walk the show once or so. Then head to whatever range we elect, if at all. Pass the cell phone numbers around so people straggling behind can find out where we are.

Can you bring your own ammo and targets to On Target? Sorry for the stupid question but I'm sure some ranges won't let you to.

Thanks

Sheslinger: I bring my own ammo to On Target quite regularly and they've never complained. I've never brought my own targets but I've seen other people do it. The guys who run that place seem pretty decent.

I'm up for hanging out at the gun show Saturday AM. I live pretty close by. I don't know if I'd have time for lunch or shooting - the wife and I have tentative plans for Saturday noonish after she gets off work to head up to Rivergate and spend some time browsing the stacks at our favorite used bookstore / eating at a cajun/creole place whose name I forget.

Oh, and as for people complaining about getting wanded at the Pope show? I was there when that idiot shot a hole in the floor, and at the next show they did indeed wand people. Can't really say as I blame them. The next time they relaxed and rather than wand just reminded people about being unloaded and careful.

Just to sum up all TN activities (I am starting to get confused):

On Saturday, the 23rd, we are meeting at the Pope show (time?), then go grab lunch and go to On Target, right?

On Saturday, the 30th, we are having a gettogether at our place, right? We will iron out the details later but please PM or email myself or Cslinger if you are definitely coming. Obviously, all are invited.

On Sept 14th, we are going to the outdoor range, most likely Cheatham county around 1 pm, right?

Thanks
Julie

Julie,

That schedule sounds good to me.

My fiancee and I will be at the gun show, probably around 10 or 10:30. She will also be coming to the get-together at your place next weekend. I'm planning to contribute something towards the meal. Ya'll can taste my culinary wizardry. :D I'm not sure, but she may also come to the range day on the 14th. Of course, her being able to make it or not depends on her homework load. Damn professors at Vandy sure know how to pile it on.

Frank

Leave Frank Alone

Imaginary friends are a healthy part of mental development. :neener:

Can we just have a get together NOW. I can't take this place any more.......walls closing in.......spinning............anger rising.........sorry just gas.:D

Sorry it's been a long millenium.:(

See Chris....thats why I love my job. Darrin and I spent the day jaunting around Clarksville getting things done....Then stoped at Cheatum county to blow though a few rounds to work out some stress. Lovely job i do admit :D

The doors open at 9 but do we really want to be there at 9? Maybe 10? As I said, I won't be able to hang around for lunch or shooting afterwards and now it appears I won't be able to make the 30th either *sigh*.

I have 2 $15 range passes and a $50 gift certificate to the On Target Range I will let go for $60. They won't let you shoot reloads there unless you buy a year membership. Reloads are all I shoot and I'm not gonna give them $300 to let me do it. If anyone is interested in them P.M. me. We can meet at the gunshow Saturday.
