Hi Warrigal,
Thanks for the good wishes, and for your appreciation of the American governmental philosophy. I lived for almost a year in your wonderful land (in Canberra, much reviled by many Aussies, but my family and I loved it there). I have many good friends in Australia, and my father, who spent a good part of 1944 on the isle of New Guinea, always said he appreciated the good spirits and friendship of your mates during WWII, not to mention the bravery and tenacity with which they fought.
I for one was very disappointed, however, at how fragile your right to bear arms has proven. I do not want to hijack your post, but would you be willing to give us your perspecitive on the pro-gun rights (i.e., pro self-protection rights) movement in your country?
PS - a Warrigal - like a dingo, yes?
