Today I enjoyed the outdoors. I chose to carry......

I’ve got some other FK knives… Yet the NL series are superb. About as close to custom as a factory gets. Very exceptionally sharp. I like them even tho they are to expensive. High quality for sure
That's a pricey and pretty knife. I really like Fallkniven but never found my way to the Northern Lights series (though I've considered it). How do you like it?

This thread is awesome. I don't have any current pics to share, but here's a couple shots from a whitetail deer hunt in southern Ohio several years ago.
Old pics are fine man. Keep em coming if there's a gun involved.

Trying to get The Dude (he was looking skeptical) to go for a walk with me on a drizzly PNW day. He sighed and then came along (guess he had nothing better going on). No sights to show off, just down my rainy road. But I carried the hog-leg, just because. Took longer to dry everything than our walk lasted..

That the new Anaconda?

Python. It's a keeper! Holster is from this guy who Turkey, his company is called MASC, essentially an extremely well-done version of the comparable Galco holster but about 50 bucks cheaper (available through Amazon, of course).
Wow, I'm out of practice. Frame size and muzzle should've given it away. Guess I better get back to more gun lookin. Been away too long.

Old Dog

Saw those on Amazon a couple of weeks ago and they looked really nice and for a very reasonable price! Thanks for confirming my impression of their quality.

I did not know they made a 686 mountain gun until that picture. That's very nice.

Thank you- I like it with Skeeters 13.5 2400 & 158gr Sp (*Check books for charge)

Pretty Damn Rare- For every dozen 44 mag mountain guns you find, You may find One 357…And if it’s the prelock-your very lucky

This Walther P99 AS model (here from Google images) was carried during a wooded walk by an old plantation home, in a totally safe, private area.
I took it along -literally- simply to continue the habit of carrying, after not doing so very often lately.

In the video linked below, "Sootch" compares it with the more popular Walther PPQ, and he demonstrates the P99 AS' decocking button—to decock the Striker (yes, you read this correctly) :scrutiny: at 5:23.

The first shot can be SA (two slightly different SA 'modes') or ....DA.o_O Again—decocked at 5:23 into DA.
Walther P99 VS PPQ 9mm Pistols - YouTube

If I didn't buy Only DA/SA guns, I might have bought a PPQ - no matter which version.
This P99's DA pull has much better 'stacking' than a stock HK USP: my Walther has a very steady, proportionate increase in tension.

German, “Dutch” , Estonian etc police departments tend to recognize quality guns when they test and issue them.

Made a few nice hikes. I hate to say we didn't do anything new, just a few favorites.

What did your school look like :D

My carry choices for the week were my Taurus 605 357mag and my XDM compact 45acp. I wish I would have brought my Fobos paddle OWB holster instead of my Galco IWB for the XDM. I had a hard time getting comfortable hiking with the IWB rig. I backpack carried the XDM most of the time.

Sorry about the bench photo. Forgot to take a woods/trail picture.

I recognize a good bit of those views.

O had an enjoyable black powder season despite not firing a shot. 20211211_144754.jpg
The hints were on our property. We have no shortage of whitetail deer.

I carried my t/c Hawken. 54 kit gun (1984) during Illinois blackpowder season.

I just wanted to wish everyone a Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays!

Spending some time in South Carolina at home this week. Didn't get out hiking at all and going through trail withdrawal. :(

Range is closed for the holidays, so not getting any trigger time either.

Anyone have some pictures to share :)

Still grab a carry gun. It's been my 380 LCPII.

I'll give you a little help...shot a few mags today. (12/25/21)
Off the porch of my shop.
20211225_140916.jpg two 17rd mags through the sr9c. This pistol is just crazy good. I'm thinking of finding a used sr9 for my bedroom gun.(that sounds odd....bedside gun?) The SR9C just puts holes where the sights are......ejects empties in a nice little circle....10rd compact mags too. I just wish it looked like a 1911. The only thing I don't like about it is it's looks.

The lcp is my edc gun. I have to shoot it regularly to stay proficient..380 ammo is tough to find. I only fired 14rds but it was a good refresher.
20211225_084028.jpg
Both guns were a draw and fire , mag drop, reload, fire.....good practice.

This first shot from the lcp struck dead-center on the metal pig. FWIW it hit the welded seam and didn't penetrate. The second round passed through both sides and toppled the pig.
20211225_083351.jpg don't get the wrong idea about my sign...it stood defiantly in my yard since before the election... I'm not sure why it got pulled...the one on the other end of the yard is still there .

While we're in complete agreement about how nice of a gun the SR9c is, I have to disagree with you about how the gun looks. I was at the indoor range when I happened to notice that the gentleman in the stall next to me had one, literally right out of the box. I instantly liked the streamlined look of the slide along with the rounded shape of the grip frame. When he asked me if I would try shooting it as he was struggling to get the gun on target, I was more than happy to oblige! Up close I really appreciated the clean lines and overall styling of this compact pistol from Ruger.

In fact I was so impressed by it that I went out and bought one a short while later!
It's also very easy to conceal carry it all day long with the right holster and belt set-up!

The SR9C was way ahead of its time. All the bells and whistles right out of the box.
Just easy to shoot too.
