Finally got off my butt and gathered up all the parts I have accumulated for a 10-22 target/sporter. I had an old carbine that was never very accurate even after doing hammer/trigger/buffer/bedding mods so it sacrificed its upper. I had a Kidd trigger from an old swap session, and a friend gave me a nice Ruger laminated target stock he had relieved and put a nice finish on. I bought a target barrel with Bentz clambering and put it all together this afternoon. A little shaving, a little shimming and an indexed stock screw and it is ready to go. Ill try it out as soon as it warms up a little. Then, if it shows promise, an appropriate scope. Hope it doesn't have the first shot flier from a loaded mag issue that the last one had. 1/4" out in the bench matches is a loss of a couple points. I don't like loading six for a five shot string and putting a sacrificial "seating" round in the berm before going for record. I have a dozen representative kinds of match ammo to try. I will start with the same stuff my Anschutz and CZ rifles like.
